Is the Dad to be allowed time off for midwife appointments and antenatal classes?
My DH wants to come to my midwife appointments but has been told that he needs to take it as his holiday. Is this right? I just assumed that he would be allowed time off just like we are.

My DH was allowed time off for the important ones - like the first appt and scans, but I used to go to the other ones on my own. I think it's up to the company's discretion really and the benefits they provide in the contract.

Okay. Thanks. I will get him to check his contract to see what he is allowed.

It's down to his employer, there's no legal right. My bloke went to every appointment and just made the time up. He shouldn't expect paid time off.

my hubys noticed this,

since mentionin to the one who does the rotas etc that hes gonna need to alter his shifts and will be bookin paternity leave in sept, she keeps giving him evil looks and wont talk to him, so now hes just arranging shift swopises with his co workers who have been ace about it
