Melted trousers!!

I just went to iron a pair of black trousers and they melted!!

Any tips on how best to clean my iron??

Oh dear no idea really. Maybe you try to google it??
I always use a towel and iron synthetic things over a towel ifykwim for that same reason
I hope you can fix it...

sert your iron on a low heat until all the crud goes soft, then wipe it off with a damp cloth with vinegar on it

Oh no dont use vinegar I remembered i now use nail polish remover! the vinegar stinks ( but it works ) if its sticking bad use a scourer sponge lightly! you may have to leave the iron on for a good while

I turned it off, and it went brittle, most of it peeled off in one go.
