The connecta is most comfortable soft structured carrier I have tried. Many people prefer to call it a buckle-tai as it is the same as a mei tai in shape and idea except with buckles, as opposed to most other soft structured carriers which have a different way of wearing and are less flexible. I don't know if that makes sense the way I have written it
As for mei tais, different makes will have different levels of comfort. It is probable that an Eden would not be as comfortable for you as a Connecta (it wasn't for me) but something like a bamberoo or an eye2eye would probably be more comfortable (but they cost a lot). Your body shape will change how comfortable you think something is. I find my Connecta a thousand times better than an FBS but there are probably people who would prefer the FBS. Wrap conversion mei tais tend to be more supportive in my experience.
Someone said about all the buckles and buttons - the connecta has 2 buckles, that's it. The buckles don't rub and the wider webbing makes it very comfortable. They are extremely popular for good reason.
Without knowing which MT it is you are thinking of I don't know how much help I can be though for giving comparisons
I have tried mei tais more comfortable than a connecta and less comfortable.
Maybe you should think about how, where and when you want to wear it. Personally, I put on carriers before going out and if I take DD out of them i just keep the carrier on. I usually use an Ocah Hybrid wrap conversion and it is amazing! If I were going out in the car and likely to be putting carriers on outside in winter I would take out one of my connectas though as it doesn't have the long straps that a mei tai does so it wouldn't get filthy and muddy. Be aware that if you put on a mei tai outside the straps will trail on the ground as you put it on. I prefer to have straps I can tie so that I can adjust DD just so. OH prefers the ease of fastening buckles and then pulling the webbing if he needs to adjust the connecta. It is slightly faster to put on a buckle carrier but neither takes hours so I don't think that's a big issue.
I recommend asking about carriers on babywearing forums as the women there are awesome and collectively know about every carrier ever
