I'm just wondering if your gp can prescribe something for sickness? I read about a woman pregnant with twins was given medication for sickness but will they give it for a single pregnancy? Also what are they called?

Yes there are several drugs you can try for extreme pregnancy sickness. You have to remember though that nothing is totally "safe", but some of the older fashioned drugs that have been around ages don't seem to cause any harm. GP can usually prescribe cyclizine, or prochlorperazine (stemitil). Most docs won't do this unless you are getting significant issues like dehydration/weight loss/needing time off work etc, but it depends on the doc.

My first pregnancy I avoided everything as was I was paranoid about harming baby, despite having awful sickness. This time as I had to look after a toddler and go to work, I did take stemitil and it stopped the puking/retching, but I still felt quite sick.

I tried loads
Cyclizine buccastem and another one
None helped much
I lost loads of weight though. To the point where at almost36w pregnant im still lighter now than my booking in weight x
