May 2014 Mummies

Dooeyano, I should have been 7 weeks when I had my early scan last week, although after having the scan they don't think I'm quite that far, you could see the sac and a heartbeat but that was about it, I had a mega full bladder as advised and my appointment was 45 minutes late, my bladder was solid, how I did not p is beyond me lol. Hope you get to see baby's heartbeat x

Hi Katie and congratulations :)

Rachel that is similar to me, I'll either be seen at 8 or 9 weeks, it's just what they do. I have seen a doctor but it was just to confirm pregnancy as I booked appt then took a fmu specimen in with me without being asked.

Think I might go for the scan about 8 or 9 weeks. Oh I don't know.

I've had a headache all afternoon - first one during pregnancy - while I'm babbling on here - you can take normal/basic paracetamol during pregnancy can't you?

I've been told paracetamol is fine but not ibuprofen, and if you do take paracetamol, best to try just one if possible. I've been trying to cope without but after a week and a half back at school and major observations today I seem to have caught all the lurgy in my class and got a stress headache to boot, so an hoping 4head stick is ok to use as that's my go-to thing with headaches. Hope your headache gets better soon xx

Yes u can, I personally avoid it due to the other medications I have to take in pregnancy but have been told its safe x

Does anybody feel and look like absolute crap?! I have an awards evening for work Tonight where I actually have to go up and present an award, plus host a table which means lots of pictures and honestly i look terrible! Bring on the "glowing" x

I did til I got 3 inches cut off my hair at the weekend, now I feel loads better - partly because the mad curliness of it becomes the focus rather than anything else and I can hide behind my fringe!

See I was blonde and went light brown just before ttc because of all the hair dye do's and donts, I just can't get used to it..... Plus everyone's saying I look ill/tired which isn't helping lol! Xx

Thanks girls! I haven't been well the last couple of years with dizziness and migraine type headaches. I've never gone to bed without taking paracetamol otherwise I won't sleep and I'll have it for days. I just can't seem to bring myself to take done because I had loads last pregnancy as I had a bad head for two days and then I miscarried. I'm sure it wasn't related. I feel like I'm going to throw up though and I'm holding on to things as I'm walking about because of it. I'll see what it's like when I get home from a gathering at my friend's (who is due to give birth any day now !) xx

Take care vic.

Have you tried cucumber or cool tea bags on your eyes MrsT? I'm naturally dark brown and sometimes put a semi-permanent colour in, but not done it for months and months because of ttc, so I feel for you. Have heard foils are ok because the dye doesn't come in contact with your skin.

Anyone else sneezing loads?! I can't decide if its a symptom or if our flat is just unusually dusty!! The last 2 or 3 days its been mad, and trouble is it hurts quite often down below and seems to set off the cramps, which of course makes me uneasy!
Also, I'm mystified by my lack of cm - I've spent all that time ttc being under the impression I'd know when I was pregnant because I'd get a glut of creamy cm, but I've for bugger all! Dryer than a normal month, just the occasional bit of sticky cm when I wipe (sorry for the lovely info!!). Is everyone else experiencing lots of it or are there any other 'dry' ladies?!?! X

I'm quite dry down there aswell..I only see cm when I wipe. I thought I would of had loads!xx

Yeah I was prepared to be needing endless liners but at the moment I don't need anything! Maybe it's because all my bodily fluids are coming out my nose! Ha ha! X

I had no idea to expect anything more, but I'm quite 'dry' too.

And I haven't had a sneeze free day since my bfp. I found that holding the sneeze in made the cramps worse, so now I just let it out and get a hand, or tissue on the rare occasion my body gives me enough advance warning, in the way.

Pregnancy sure is elegant from the start hey?! We're a bunch of dried up, snotty, gassy, pukey, half asleep, constipated, knicker checking birds ;) But hey, at least our boobs are growing!!!

Lol that's so true! And talking abt boobs..mines are popping out my bra already!lol x

Mine have always been ample, but they've grown so much I've resorted to those soft soft crop top type things being sold in sainsburys at the mo - they're just supportive enough and the aches are less noticeable with these bras. You're completely right, pregnancy does not equal me becoming elegant!
