Well I am in love. My baby boy finally arrived 10 days late and what a drama...

As far as I was told my baby was head down through most of my pregnancy. So I had 2 sweeps previously. 1 at 40 weeks and the other at 41 weeks. Different midwives and both said bubba was engaging and I was 1cm dilated. So nothing happened and my induction date was booked for 10/09.

07.45am Turned up for the checks etc and nurse had pessary all ready as me and baby were doing just fine. Suddenly she says she can't feel the head! Well me jokingly said well baby must have a head! She asked her snr to check again and she couldn't feel it either. Me and hubby started to panic.

08.30am I was sent for an emergency scan and yep bubba was in fact breech! So much for baby being engaged blah blah blah (A letter will be sent about this). We were in complete shock and had absolutely no idea what to expect next.

09.00am Sent to labour ward to discuss options. They said i could try and give birth naturally if i wanted (hell no). The other option was C-section as it was just too late to try and turn baby. I was so disappointed and felt totally cheated out of an experience.

11.00am Gown on and needles in. All checks done.

12.00pm Walked to theatre. Any ladies who have had a C-section will know what a strange and surreal experience. I had lovely lovely people around me and had such a sense of calm it was the strangest experience. Well i loved it and couldn't have asked for a better team.

12.27pm My baby was born and i my hubby still got to cut the cord. We were even told off when they were putting me back together because we were laughing. Needless to say, not how i imagined at all, but i was taken care of and i am starting to feel really good again already.

My 2 favourites in the world xxx

Ahh, lovely photo and really glad you had a good experience in the end, even though it wasn't what you'd planned. Congratulations xx

Babies can turn right up until labour so might well have been head down then turned. My lo was breech for ages and I never felt her turn. Congratulations on the safe arrival of your lo.

Congratulations, he is absolutely gorgeous! xx

Very cute! Sounds like a lovely calm birth too, congrats x
