Seriously does it matter what you get. I'd rather get the £40 foam one then fork out £70 upwards on a foam, spring, air flow etc etc mattress!

As far as I know, you can only use a foam one whilst LO is a baby, once they get bigger you have to get a sprung one because it wont support them properly. That's the advice I was given anyway, so I got a sprung matress so it will last until Lil is about 6. :)

Hasn't there been studies that link matresses to cot death? Please correct me if i am wrong though, as i dont want to scare anyone!

I would say not as you have to have a mattress in a cot!!! You just must make sure that for each baby you buy a new mattress, you can't use your old one, or have a except a hand me down.

Sorry i meant certain types of mattresses? But yeah i think you could be right, its secondhand/old mattresses.

I have sprung ones for my two, simply because they've got cotbeds and I wanted them to last longer! I didn't want to pay like 40 quid then have to pay out a load more a year down the line!

Brill, i got a cotbed, and was very confused by it all, but now i would be best spending my and getting a spring mattress, so it lasts throught being a toddler.
I do love this forum.
