Hi! I'm 33 weeks today & the midwife has put on my notes, 5/5 for fifths palpable. I have no clue what this is, and I can seem to find much info online. Does anyone know what this means? The baby seems to be sitting a bit lower now, and I was wondering if he had moved down a bit. She did say he was lying a bit lower.

Thanks

There's actually an explanation of this in the maternity notes, just opposite the page where they note it down (page 12)

5/5 free
4/5 sitting in the pelvic brim
3/5 lower but still mostly above the brim
2/5 engaged, as most is below brim
1/5 or 0/5 deeply engaged, hardly still palpable from above

That means she can feel all of the baby's head in your pelvis. As it gets lower, they can feel less and less, like 3/5 felt. To be 5/5 is perfectly normal at this stage of your pregnancy xx
