Anyone else know what it is?

I thought it was 39 weeks (instead of 26) normal maternity leave plus 26 weeks additional maternity leave. But i have had a letter from work saying i am entitled to 52 weeks of maternity leave made up of 26 weeks ordinary and 26 additional.

I have spoken to my HR department who say that it is 39 weeks paid maternity leave but i only get 13 weeks not paid not 26. I am confused again as i thought it was 39 weeks paid and 26 not?

i think theyre right you get 52 weeks off.

you used to get 26 weeks paid 26 weeks unpaid.

now you get 39 weeks paid and 13 weeks unpaid.

you dont get any longer off you just get more money than you used to.

i think anyway does that make sense?

Yer as from yesturday law is now 39 weeks paid and remaining unpaid

Hi,

Yeah thats right.

But the first 6 months is still called ordinary mat leave andf the next 6 months additional mat leave. But you get paid for the first 3 months of the additional. Just to confuse you, lol!
