I've got myself all confused!

Maternity Leave and Pay.

I only get statutory maternity pay. I know under the new rules that we get Ordinary maternity leave for 26 weeks and then additional maternity leave for 26 weeks, but what do i get paid for?? I thought it was just for the ordinary leave (ie 26 weeks), but i've just read in a book that you get SMP for 39 weeks!!!

Please help, i'm sooooo confused!!

Babies due on or before 31 March 2007
SMP is paid for a continuous period of up to 26 weeks.

Babies due on or after 1 April 2007
SMP is paid for a continuous period of up to 39 weeks.
