Hey everyone,

I’m 6 weeks along and HUGE already (thanks to ohss and stims). I’m too fat for all of my clothes so I need to buy some maternity wear.

I’ve ordered some things from Next and they’re hideous and the sizing is way out...

So, can I have some suggestions for the best places to buy maternity clothes please. I mostly mean for the bottom half, as you can kinda just buy oversized for the top half.

Thanks in advance xx :)

I’ve tried on maternity jeans from new look and the fit wasn’t great, but that might just be me, I’ve ended up getting some maternity jeans from Topshop that fit well for the moment and the waist feels like there’s room to grow. I’m yet to find a good pair of black trousers for work though so I’d take any suggestions too xxx

That’s the problem I’m having. I have maternity jeans already, they seem quite readily available. But I can’t wear those to work. I need leggings and black trousers.....

Maternity clothes are awful. That's my verdict! Lol.. sorry not helpful.

I'm fibbing, I have one pair of jeans that are more like jeggings that are super comfy that I wear all the time on a weekend.
I'd really like a pair of trousers for work but I can't find any that aren't made of horrible material.

My jeans were from H&M. I have 2 dresses from dotty ps one from new look and one from red herring. The new look one looks nice but is made from horrible material as well. I've just bought a coat today and that's awful too. Fast forward 4 months please!!

Oh yep and Dorothy Perkins - I had a few basics from there

Haha!

Basically everything is horrible. This made me laugh a lot :) thank you for your honesty xx

Asos, H&M, Asda x

Thanks Lovely :)

Do Asda have maternity stuff in store?

The problem I have with online purchases - especially with maternity clothes - is that they’re normally shit so I want to see them in person first. That’s what infuriates me about Next. It’s a massive clothing brand but they don’t do maternity in-store :(

I really love Primarks maternity leggings. They’re soooo comfy and they stretch with bump really well. Also Asda are really good but my local Asda never has any maternity stuff in store - it has to be ordered all online. And H&M are quite good too. Last time round I got quite a few bits off eBay and this time I’ve still got a few bits from DS so I’ve not had to buy too much this time :)

I know, so annoying! Have never seen Asda mat stuff in store, but they do do the click and collect and the returns where you dump it through a letterbox so relatively easy. Oh, larger Debenhams have stuff in store x

I am searching for maternity jeans online and all I can find anywhere is skinny jeans!! WHY?! Skinny jeans are not flattering on me at the best of times, let alone now when I'm 12 weeks pregnant and feel huge already! I genuinely don't understand the lack of options such as bootleg jeans.

I must check out these primark leggings! I really do need some leggings :)

My cousin just recently bought some bootcut jeans from mothercare. Bootcut are really unflattering on me so I never looked there. They looked nice though :)

I went to Dot Perks yesterday... no maternity stuff in store. Same as M&S (which really surprised me!).

I ended up buying three pairs of gorgeous trousers from H&M. They really do a gorgeous range of maternity stuff in there. I don’t think I’ll bother buying from anywhere else.

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies ;)

Thanks Hoody. Just found some online at Gap (bootleg jeans) and have ordered, hopefully they look nice and will fit ok!

Must check out H&M's maternity range.

To ask a dumb question Hoody - what is ohss and stims? Apologies for my ignorance ...

Don’t apologise! No question is stupid if you don’t know the answer :)

I need ivf to conceive so they stimulate my ovaries (stims) with injections and because I have polycystic ovaries I usually get something called ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (ohss). I can’t give you a super medical explanation because I’m not that clever but basically the vessels in the ovaries can leak fluid into your abdomen and it causes major bloating. I have it mild this time but the first time I was pregnant they had to put a drain in my stomach which released five litres of fluid. Verrrrrry unpleasant experience. Maybe look it up for a better explanation xx
