Just got my MATB1 form in the post

I know I've got to send it to my employers, but do I send the original or a copy?

Iv not got mine yet, still a short way to go but if you give the original in make sure you take a copy just in case they lose it! (I certainly wouldn't put it past my employers to lose mine!) xxx

My MW wasn't going to see me until I was 24-25 weeks, by then it wouldn't have given me enough time to put my request for SMP in...
So she said once I had my 20 week scan and was deffo 20 weeks, she'd post it out to me then, and she did . xxx

I gave them a photocopy and showed them the original as my partners employers need a copy also so he can have his 2 weeks of paternity leave x

Ooo thats good to know, I sent off a copy to be on the safe side!

OH employers will probably need to see it too, as he works for the Prison Service :S...

I'm not sure how it works to be honest, I made him ask them as we aren't married so therefore don't have the same surname. They said it didn't matter and they would accept my MAT B1 regardless of marital status. It might be worth getting your OH to ask if they need it and whether it matters if you're married or not (Sorry, don't know if you are or not )

I know he needs to applu for paternity leave by the date I have to submitted mine is that correct?!
If so, what does he write in the letter?! Same as what I did mine but from his point of view?

No we're not married yet, will be in about 9 weeks time
