Has anyone else seen this? I personally wouldnt have an abortion myself but I understand why some people do but do you personally think it is practial for them to be advertising this on television?

I saw this on tv earlier, I'd already read it was going to be aired and the uproar surrounding it. Personally I thought the advert itself was very well handled, it's not the 'advert for abortion' that people seemed to be saying it would be, it just seemed to be an offer of advice more than anything.

Personally I wouldn't dream of having a termination, even when I was young I knew it was something I couldn't do, but I know there are young girls out there who need people to talk to about such things and it's good that they have a responsible avenue to go down.

To be honest it doesn't surprise me. When I was on holiday in Florida I got more of a shock at all the drugs and treatments etc that were openly advertised and that seemed to worry me more. I don't think an advert will make someone more likely to choose termination as an option, you are either comfortable with it or you're not.

I find it less weird than the 'I had a boob job but all people comment on is my smile' adverts
and botox adverts

they are truly weird...

If it was advertising just abortions then I wouldn't be happy but it's not. It's advertising the options available for women-yes abortion is one of these choices (not for me personally) but so is adoption, fostering as well as help with coming to terms with being pg if it wasn't planned. I think that it's a good idea to advertise that there are choices out there for women who think they have none. We advertise cosmetic surgery which years ago would have been severly frowned upon so why not the choices available for women?
