manual / electric breast pump

my MIL got me an electric breast pump in the sales, i've used it about three times now as i always try to do OH a bottle to give zach at night.
i could usually manage to do about 4oz with my manual pump, but with the electric, i struggle to get 2oz! could there be any reason for this? surely it should be the other way round

The electric ones not stimulating your let down reflex. Mine doesn't either, I use it because its more practical for me as I have to rush about doing things in the morning before work.... where as you kinda need two hands for the manual and your hand gets tired ...but when I do use a manual one, I find I can use it in a way that acts like the baby sucking and my let down happens

If the electric ones isn't for you...don't bother with it Its just one of those things.

i've just done another bottle for tonight, and i expressed for five minutes on one boob, then five on the other, then left it for ten minutes, then each boob again. seemed to work a lot better, i got nearly 5oz. still, it's a bit of a pain all the stopping & starting!
