I think it's awful that Mum's are made to feel 'ashamed' when they BF in public. Especially in this day and age. I BF in public when Fin was younger, but just used a muslin cloth to cover his head so no-one could actually see my boob. If they didn't like it they didn't have to look at it and plus, nothing was on show anyway. My babies needs came well before anyone's opinion.
Power to the boob!! Lol!

I know, I seen someone having a rant on facebook the other day about how a woman was breastfeeding in a restaurant and how it put them off their food etc....safe to say she was deleted! Im not bf anymore but I do wish I wasn't so embarrassed to do it in public the handful of times I did do it.

I thought that woman in the video put it really nicely xx

I've never had anyone say anything until today!
I was with 4 other couples from my NCT in a pub and we were there before the table next to us got there. Table next to us got there and they immediately looked at us and I saw the younger girl roll her eyes.
I heard them chatting and the rolling eyes girl was with her new bf and they kept snogging passionately. Then one of our babies cried and the girl (who turned out to be a Uni fresher) said loudly 'I hate babies, they shouldn't be in pubs' her bf laughed but her parents looked horrified. I was the only one in my group to hear so I ignore it.
Then my baby got hungry so I put my shawl on and fed her. That girl then said 'sorry but that's gross!' Loud enough for me to hear. I could hear her parents firmly mumble something to her. But I was fed up and said to her 'so are massive public displays of affection but I mind my own business, please do the same!' She went bright red and stormed off to the loo. Her parents apologised to me - bless them. Stupid made in Chelsea wannabe - you know the kind, messy blonde hair, in a messy bun with a pashmina. Fool!

Omg what an absolute bitch! Was probably showing off in front of her boyf! I've only bf in public once, that was in a park, on a bench, facing a wall lol and I felt uncomfortable (I've done it in the car a few times tho). Good on you for saying something! Hope she feels embarrassed about it, silly little girl! Xxx

Yuck... I know the types.. I lived in London for a year and worked with a bunch of them for 2 weeks lol. Worst 2 weeks of my life! Wanted to poke them all in the eye!

I had an old woman come up to me when feeding in Costa the other day and say "couldn't you do that somewhere more private?" I was like nope, I am entitled to feed my baby wherever I like thankyou!

Also I had a bottle of breastmilk that I wanted to warm up in a restaurant so I asked for a mug of hotwater & they said "we can't give that to you but we can microwave it", I said its breastmilk it can't be microwaved but they still refused!!

On the other hand...

I had a really nice woman come up to me & congratulate me on breastfeeding my baby, and feeling confident enough to do it in public. Really made my day!
