Hello everyone,

Been meaning to do this for a while now so here goes

So after my failed 3 day induction at 39 weeks I went back in on Friday 23rd to be induced as was 12 days over. Went in at 8am was examined and was 1cm but cervix was still quite thick, so pessary was inserted at 10.30am.
Spent the day walking around the hospital and bouncing on the ball but didn't even have a twinge, pessary fell out when I went to the toilet at bout 11pm so they put another one in and examined me and there had been no change. So just got comfy for the night and went to sleep.

Woke at 4 as needed the loo and pessary fell out again!! Had another inserted at 5am and there had still been no change so was getting a bit fed up by then. After the 3rd pessary was in started getting really bad period type pains but as I had been getting them the past week I didn't even think that they could be anything.
Was examined at half 10am on the 24th to see if I needed the gel, well low and behold I was 5cm the pains I were having were infact contractions. Midwife broke my waters and straight away contractions starting coming faster and stronger. Was moved to a labour room and the contractions started to really hurt so got on the gas and air. After an hour the gas and air was doing nothing as baby was back to back so it was killing me. I asked to have the epidural but the doctor was in theatre so they gave me pefiden instead, well every time I got a contraction I was sick as it was really hurting my back.


Doctor came round at 3pm and examined me and I was 9cm gave me the epidural and it was the best thing ever haha, after I had it though all the contractions stopped so had to have the hormone drip. Well this just made the pain in my back worse and ended up having 6 contractions in 5 minutes so as you could imagine I was sick everywhere!

By 9pm I was still only 9cm so they said they would give it an hour and if nothing happenedvi would have to have an emergency c-section, by this point I was really disappointed in myself as I had got so far and then nothing. Well nothing happened so cue eveyone rushing around and my mum crying and ringing everyone to let them know, cant really remember all this as was such a rush and panic.

Went down to theatre with my oh with me and Luisa may Simpson was born at 11.07pm on Saturday 24th May weighing 8lb 15oz

Thank you, I felt a bit disappointed at first but just so glad it's all over and my little angel is here xx

congratulations, i ended up with an emergency section as i never passed 4-5cm and babies heart rate kept dropping, I felt disappointed but now I feel really proud of my scar so hopefully you will too xxx
