About ten mins ago I experianced some really horrible pains low down coming on both sides. Really sharp pains. They only lasted about 1 min but really scared me as hurt so much, my poor dog cause see I was in pain & kept licking & barking @ me.. What do I do?? Tell midwife?? What is it?? Wasn't like I'd held a wee in for too long or wind was completely different.. Shook me up a bit tho as so strong. Now I've got very slight twinges on my right side but nothing like before. Any advice, help please girls x

It could be ligament pains, i get this too occasionally, especially if i move too quick. If youre worried though give your midwife a call xx

I have no idea hun sorry but didn't want to read and run. I've had a few twinges in that area too and sometimes sharp but they go and i just feel a little tender for a while. I go to sleep and wake up feeling fine again.

I don't know if it's a type of trapped nerve or just all the stretching that's going on down there. If i were you i would phone the midwife and see what she thinks if you are still worried also it just puts your mind at rest if it happens again.

Hope you feel better soon hunni, let us know if you do find out what it is xx

Midwifes phone is off.. So rang my doctor, they got me First available app, 12:20. I have cramps and twinges and pains like stretching quite a bit but this was completely different that's the only reson I'm worried I actually was like doubled over & couldn't stand :/ x

I have no idea sorry hun- hope your doctors appointment goes ok let us know how you get on x

Sounds like ligament pain to me I get it and it can be very sharp and painful only lasting a short time you are probably doing the right thing seeing your doctor just in case..... I hope everything is alright and will put your mind at rest.

Just got back, doctor thinks all is ok, she listened to heart beat and sounded ok, but she has still referred me for a scan, think with the hypermesis & not been feeling that great in pregnancy they wanna check. Not sure when I will get one, I called up & there fully booked today do possibly tomoZ but will know more when she has my referral. X

The ultrasound department never got the referral as docs had forgot to fax it, and lady there said even if she had recieved the referral I wouldn't be getting a scan.. I think it's for earlier on in pregnancys, she thinks listening to heart beat is enough. Was really for peace of mind as I'm still so worried but she doesn't wanna know!

Can they do that if the gp has referred you? how are your pains now? xx

Hope your ok chick, let us know how you get on. Im sure its nothing to worry about though x

Hope you are ok hun. Think if doc has head a hb then things are ok. I have had a pain like this where I actually couldn't stand up and my legs gave way and I felt really sick. I said to OH it was like when you hit a bone or stub your toe really bad but either side of my tummy. My doc said it was ligaments stretching but to keep an eye incase it was the start of spd. xxxxxxxxxxxxx

It's more the fact you get told your having a scan & for your own peace of mind you can see it on scan that it's all ok.. Then to be told you can't have one Is just upsetting because I was looking forward to seeing baby. I think if I was slightly further and was feeling baby and felt movement id b fine but cause I haven't felt abything yet I don't know that it's ok.. :/

Doctors trying to get hold of ultrasound department but having no luck. Not liking this waiting game at all!!

Ive had this a few times its so painful i was almost crying at one point, It started at about 12 weeks and i just get it now and again i called NHS direct the first time and a really nice nurse called me back and explained that its ligament pain but to watch out for any signs of bleeding etc, I still get it now but midwife say's its fine and just to keep an eye on it. Glad you went to dr's and got checked to because everyone is different xx

Yeah not really been told what they think it is which is what's annoying. Been told basically they don't do emergency scans for people who are 17 weeks and this far gone they only listen to heart beat. Kinda annoying as I was told I was getting one but not had the bad as bad today. Going for private scan soon for reassurance as nhs couldn't offer me it x
