Has anyone had this before? Yesterday as I got off the train, I started to feel VERY strong pains in my lower abdomen, and on both sides (near my ovaries maybe??) - like really bad stretching pains. Not the normal ones you get in early pregnancy. This was 3 times stronger. I could feel my ligaments and muscles stretching out near the lower part of my uterus and it was so strong that I couldn't walk straight anymore. In fact at some point I just couldn't walk at all. I am not bleeding and my upper abdomen is fine, but those pains down there are just unbearable. My mum told me to rest and not move as I am very active. As soon as I got home I layed down and this morning I got up with the same pains, but not as strong as last night. It feels better but it's still there. I'm not going to work today so i can stay in bed but I am so worried. Not worried about the baby but worried about my ligaments and muscles down there. Please someone reassure me....; :( :( :(

Awww

Your insides are being rearranged about to make room for the baby, maybe your muscles are just straining a bit. I haven't suffered any bad pains so I'm not too sure but your bound to feel something with everything that is going on inside your body.

If it eases off I wouldn't worry too much, but if it stays or gets worse go and see your gp. I had a really bad pain on one side and I was convinced it was an ovarian cyst, when I saw my GP he gave me that "well you are pregnant you know" speech which made me feel like I was wasting his time but I was persistant and asked him to book me in for a scan as it felt too bad to be stretching pains. When I got to the scan the next day it turned out I had a small hernia and there were exposed nerves, hence the pain.
I think my GP felt a bit of a fool for trying to ignore me so now he has gone into over drive and I have to see him once a week to make sure it's not being strangulated. (they wont operate unless it is strangulated because of the risks to the baby!).
Sometimes it pays to be persistant, only you can feel whether something doesn't feel quite right!
