Low progesterone?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone on here been told they have low progesterone?

I hadn't thought of it before, but just looked at symptoms and I pretty much have all of them!!! Could this be what caused my miscarriage and is stopping me from becoming pregnant?

If anyone has any advice it would be really appreciated xx

There's lots of controversy on this one....

The thought is that if the progesterone level is low whilst you're pregnant, then the pregnancy is "not meant to be". I guess during the tww if progesterone is low then the thought is that you haven't released a "strong" egg?

There is no good evidence for using progesterone support in normal pregnancy or RMC (according to the consultant I saw in December).

However, my previous consultant who provided me amazing care in my 5th and successful pregnancy agreed to let me try progesterone support (amongst other treatment), and the result is my gorgeous girl.

For all the "it does no good" reports, I could find no reports of it doing any harm so I asked to try it on attempt #5. I will add though, that I have a clotting problem, so the progesterone was part of a treatment plan that included anti-coagulants.

I had 200mg suppositories, and used one twice a day, and this is the plan for #2

I guess they are prescribed? do you use them once you are pregnant or before? x

My last pregnancy I did progesterone from 48hrs after ov, bfp on cycle 2 ( but tended to catch quickly anyway), this time round I'll do it from bfp I think just as I can't face doing it from ov again. I got a prescription from my consultant and then gp took over until I was 12 weeks.
