Had 12 weeks scan today all is well with baby but was told my PAPP A came back as low in my bloods so I’ll need growth scans. Was told not to google it! Now im worried anyone else had this?! Xx

I had low pappA at 12 weeks screening. I was worried about the chromosome risk so had the harmony test and it came back negative. They’ve been monitoring me for growth problems and I have to take aspirins but other than that. I’ve had no issues. The baby is rather large actually as it turns out.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. And don’t google, I did and there was a lot of stuff on there to make you worry. I did lots of googling and basically my conclusion was it can mean something or nothing. The correlation of an adverse outcome from this test is poor basically. So the scans and monitoring are them being über cautious.

Nothing was explained to me about chromosome risks! Only growth and was not offered any further testing! X

No.. they won’t mention it if your overall risk was low. I’d done some reading about it though and wound myself up so thought it would be best to have it done and rule it out. The consultant rolled her eyes at me when I said I’d had the harmony test. She said we wouldn’t have recommended it. I’m a neurotic woman though!!

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Have they told you to take aspirins?

I also have low papp a my level was around 3.6 I think, should be above 4.0
I have only been offered more scans which I start in January at 27+6 when they would start measuring your belly for growth roughly. Honestly monitoring is the best thing and don't panic.

No they didn’t say anything about taking asprin! My overall risk for everything else was low. But my PAPP A was 0.2 something and she said anything below 0.4 was at risk! I know the scans will bring reassurance just bound to be a bit of a worry in the mean time. With my last baby I measured 5 weeks behind by fundal had growth scans and all was fine although he was my smallest baby but at 6lb 11oz not overly small! But i had no PAPP A risk with him. Im just gunna try look at the positives everything else was low risk saw a lovely heartbeat and very active baby! Will ask midwife more at next appt x
