Hi ladies,

I had a check up today and all is great with baby.....but the doc said I had a low lying placenta which was very close to the top of cervix. He didn't seem overly concerned but then went on to say it might cause bleeding if it doesn't move up.

Anyway, I didn't think to ask any sensible questions at the time, but wonder if it's still ok to exercise and dtd lol? Made the mistake of googling which wasn't very helpful!! Any of you had the same thing or have any advice about it?

This has coincided with another batch of nausea so as it happens I'm not desperate to run to the gym today anyway just thought I'd ask....

Thanks:)

Having a low lying placenta doesn't affect having sex or anything like that

Basically I it is low lying it is currently covering the opening of the cervix, and of it didn't move by the end of the regnant you would need a caesarean. However, don't panic around 90% of them move up
And out of the way as baby grows.

They should have booked you in for another scan around 31-34 weeks to check the position at this stage. Even if it hadn't move them there s still time ad they'd just keep scanning you.

Don't panic and step away from google c

I had a low lying placenta at 20 week (it covered my cervix) but my my next scan it had moved up and is now fine :) all you can do is wait and see if it moves. They told me that a low lying placenta can cause bleeds but I didn't have any. xxx

I have a borderline low lying placenta and have to be scanned at 36 weeks. The didn't tell me to stop exercising or anything and I've been fine. I'm still going to the gym and Dtd!
As th other ladies have said most of the time they move out of the way, I had friends who had this an went on to give birth naturally cos it moved xx

I had a low lying placenta, I had a bleed caused by it so was told no heavy exercise and not to dtd until I was passed 24wks.

My last pregnancy I had a low placenta ,had scan at 32 weeks completely had moved out of the way. No problems at the birth , plus you get that extra late scan which is magic my daughter looked exactly as she did when she born 8 weeks later. Don't worry I'm sure it will move just fine. Take care xx
