Hello.

At my scan yesterday they said I have a low lying placenta and it is covering my cervix at the moment. They have said not to worry as it can move by itself but I was just wondering if anyone else was told this at their 20 week scan? Or if anyone had a low placenta at 20 weeks and then went on to have a normal labour?

Thanks x

Hi Kirsty I'm exactly the same as you with low lying placenta.

Can't tell you if mines moved yet as not had next scan yet. (they'll book you in again between 32 and 34 weeks).

Basically if it is still low lying you'll need a c section although they won't decide this til later on. If it's still not moved by 34 weeks they'll scan you again.

I just forgot about mine to be honest and will wait to see what next scan shows

Hi!! I had a low lying placenta that Wad covering my cervix at 20 week scan - had a scan last week and it is on the move!! :yay: got another scan at 34 weeks to make sure it has moved enough but they think I will be fine for a normal birth! :) 90% of low lying placentas move by the time you get to 34 weeks Hun so don't worry xx
