Lost my big toenail!

Well last night leaving a kids play centre with my lil girl. I pulled on the gate to get out and had flip
flops on, my toe went straight under it and the force whipped my big toe nail straight off! It was eye watering!

Went to a&e and was seen to striaght away, because I told a little lie and jumped straight to the front of the
4 hour wait I said I had a few lil cramps in my tummy

Anyhow, I had THREE bloody needles in my big toe, to numb it whilst they cleaned it up!
Then I had to go for an X-RAY!! Well I thought you couldn't have them when you were pregnant but
they made me wear an iron vest (hehe) to protect the baby from any radiation, but to be honest I was only in
there for one minute and it was really far away from my stomach. It's not broke but it's throbbing like hell,
can't take any anti-inflamatories, just paracetamol. But i've managed to only take one.

Anyway, i'm fuming cos i'm limping about now, and believe it or not my nesting instinct kicked in big time this
morning but i've told dh I can't do anything about it as i'm hobbling about!

Eugh, how awful! You poor thing, I'd be awful if I did that!! Don't feel bad for taking the paracetamol though, if you need it take it, it must be excruciating!

OOOOOOOOOOOOUCH!!! That sounds SO painful!!! Problems with toes always sound so little but they can hurt like hell! OH has a big black toe nail and I’m praying it fall off coz it’s gross! He doesn’t remember how it happened!

I had my big toe stamped on on the dance floor one night, the next morning I really couldn’t walk on it and it was throbbing – the hospital DRILLED through my toe nail to drain it!!! They said it wouldn’t hurt – B***ocks! Yuk yuk yuk! Never doing that again!!

Never heard of an iron vest before eiter! How bizarre! Hope it heals soon for you! In the meantime, even more reason for OH to run round after you!

Thanks ladies. Feet make me sick anyway, so this is really turning my stomach!

Hideilu: I hadn't heard of an iron vest either, it was an apron that was really heavy! When I told dh,
he said 'yeah thats right, superman can't see through iron'???!!! haha
Also my dad is a builder and is always drilling wholes in his nails after he's hit them with a hammer

Nicky B: Just popped another tablet as we speak! Didn't need much convincing

Becky: I'm going to make the most of this, the nesting can wait

Ouch sounds painful hope its feeling beter soon! At first glance I read title as Ive lost my big toe (not sleeping and still working is turning me into a zombie and my brain to mush!!!) so could be alot worse!

That would truely be my worst nightmare! I hate nail injuries of any kind!

My dad fell off a mountain once, and had to dig his fingers in to slow down his fall. I couldn't look at him for about 2 months until they'd grown back to some semblance of normality! Mind you, I suppose it'd have been worse if he didn't use his fingers to save himself!
