Or at least trying too! Grr! Stayed the same this week  How is everyone else doing?

Hey I feel your pain, I've been in slimming world for 10 weeks now and only lost 7lb, was hoping for 2lb a week so I'm far behind my target. It's so easy to put weight on, but so difficult to keep it off! I've been to the gym every day this week, so hoping to get a good result at weigh in on Monday.

Are you doing any specific diet? What's you goal?

J x

Hi,

I'm losing weight too. Already lost 14lbs since I started in January.

Jan- lost 10
Feb - lost 6
March so far - put on 2 (2 weigh ins left I'm hoping for 2lbs each one)

I want to lose 7lb more but would LOVE to be a stone lighter. But it's really hard now that I'm so close to goal.

I am calorie counting (using my fitness pal) and exercising. I am also doing the 5:2 idea. Where you have 2 days low calorie. I aim for 500 but it usually ends up about 800 which is fine. I do the low cal day, the day before weigh in and the day after a bad day (so a Thursday and either a Sunday/Monday)

On top of the calorie counting I am exercising. I have a treadmill at home and can only use it when my LO is in bed, so it's either a really early work out or a late one. Also been doing a bootcamp class at the gym which I love.

WWT June - 7lbs is brilliant, do not be hard on yourself!

Mrs m- make sure you take your measurements. Because weeks that the scales stay the same your measurements may have changed instead!

I made this group on facebook where we weigh in on Friday and share our low cal meals and offer eachother support.
It has been brilliant and has worked so well. I think the support system with losing weight is a massive thing so make sure you have that!

Drink lots of water

And get plenty of sleep.

Im always trying to lose weight! I feel like Ive been on a constant diet my whole life :(
Im currently on Camrbridge (its torture) as Im getting desperate to lose the 2 stone I gained last year. At the moment I dont fit into any of my holiday clothes or bikinis and I have 3 weeks and 1 day to lose this weight arrrrrrghhhhh :wall2:

Ive tried calories counting for the first 6 weeks of the year, lost some but then gained it back, then I tried Atkins for 4 weeks, same again, lost 7lb then gradually put most of it back on so on week 4 I had lost 1lb and I didnt cheat once and was super strict even the atkins professionals didnt understand it.... :help:

So then..... a week ago today I decided to contact a cambridge consultant and I start sole source this Monday, i have weigh in's every monday evening. I have been weighing myself at home and the scales here seem to think Ive lost 7lb in 4 days....?!?!?! Well, Im not sure thats right and its mostly water I know but my stomach feels so much flatter, so Im taking that as a good thing.

I dont normally agree with these diets as I feel they only work whilst youre on them but I really am desperate so will try anything right now. I honestly did try losing it the right way but it didnt work for me :( so drastic action was needed. I will come off it just before my holiday and I will introduce high protein foods so that I dont get bloated but I am still able to eat.

I really admire everyone else who is losing the weight the correct way and you certainly should not be putting yourself down for losing only a few pounds, just pick up a bag of sugar and see how heavy it is and compare that to what you've lost, you will be surprised at how heavy that really is :) stick to it and just focus on your goals.

Well done you. I truly believe there is no correct way to lose weight as it truly depends on the person and how their body decides to deal with it. What works for one person might not work for the next.
I could never do one of those diets as I need to eat (can't just have liquid) and could never cut out a certain food group. I need to be able to have anything I want (as long as I'm within my calories it's all good) :)

I'm a slimming world addict! Lose 3 stone gain 4 rejoin! Now I have 6 stone to lose and I'm 2 stone heavier than the first ti me I joined - 10 years ago! lol! The thing is, it's quite easy once you get passed the first couple of weeks, but for whatever reason I can't stick to it long term! I should be able to cos I do enjoy it while I do it! I need to start shifting my arse and do some exercise but I literally hate it! I've got 2 holidays - the first in 7 weeks time, and the next about 5 weeks later so I really need to lose 2 stone in the next 7 weeks but at this rate I'll be lucky if it's 2 lb!

I joined slimming world at the beginning of January and I have lost half a stone.

I feel like my weight loss if like a yo yo, I do well one week and then I put it back on the next. I hope my Tuesday weigh in goes ok.

Break it down into small manageable goals. Instead of saying i need to lose 2 stone by... Say you need to lose 2lbs a week. Ok that would only put you at 14lbs but that's more achievable and your more likely to stick to it.

Allow yourself a treat. When you don't have anything you like is when you start to crash and give up and go back. Weekends are my failings, it's the hardest time for me to stay focused (especially as my oh eats bad choices) but that's just one day out of 6! That's completely fine! :)

Hey Ladies well done for being so dedicated

I started doing the 5:2 and going to the gym every other day for 2 hours last year and after a couple of weeks I could notice the difference....however I didn't keep it up and now I'm bigger than ever :( I feel like a massive dumpling and I'm fed up of it, I used to be loads slimmer about 2 years ago so it's a shock for me to see photos of myself now..I don't even recognise myself.

It's time I took drastic action before I lose all sense of sexiness...which isn't going to help with TTC later ...my o/h says I'm still hot even though I'm rounder but I know secretly he would prefer me to be back to my usual slim self.

I've just ate a massive chinese so feeling pretty shit but will get my arse down to the gym tommo and try to get a routine going again

sorry to be moany tonight...I'll be my perky self again soon

sigh

Awww Stacey hope youre feeling back to your normal self soon :)

Mrs M I know how you feel Im always on a diet and restarting them, as always fall off the wagon! It drives me crazy, why cant I just be normal, a normal weight without having to really try!

As Tasha said break it down, thats how Im doing mine and I think its easier that way rather than thinking (eg) I have 4 stone to loss, break it down to 1 at a time or something? That way it probably wont seem quite so daunting :) we will get there and this is a good way to take our focus off of "you know what" lol

Lol I'm constantly on a diet. Chicken, rice and loads of vegetables. Boring as hell but the lbs fall Off. Trying to find my 6 pack again whilst waiting for bfb

Wow Holly, is that you in the pic?? Ive never had a 6 pack lol but would love one! Im currently non cambridge trying to shred the layer of fat and then hopefully some muscle might show through...? (thats what Im hoping anyway) :D

Hey vixx, yup that's me in the pic. That's the best way to do it tbh, as if you try to Tone up first, when you diet you'll lose a bit of muscle. However the more muscle you carry, the more calories your body uses (needs) to maintain the muscle. Abs are a pita to get. Literally no sugar or generally nice food for a few months lol, I only diet down that far if there is a holiday or photoshoot on the horizon. God bodybuilders are vain xx

Wow, thats amazing! You will probably hate this but... I watched Jodie Marsh do her bodybuilding bit on TV a couple of years ago and loved it and thought I would love to have a body like that! How long have you been doing it for?
So is chicken and rice a good meal to have then, if you want to lose weight/shred fat? I am so interested in this and would love any info/advice you have :) - feel free to tell me to bugger off you dont want to be talking about this on a pregnancy forum haha!

Oh you'll be telling me to shut up! I can talk bodybuilding for hours!! I tend to watch the Jodie marsh stuff too, I'm glad that it's helped her with her problems but still can't help find her a bit irritating. I know, I'm a bitch.
Here's a normal days food diary so you get the jist. This is a weight loss diary, my bulking diary has more carbs.
7am protein shake and coco pops (the most sugary, fatty food should be in the morning, ideally breakfast to give your body a insulin spike, everything else should ideally be low sugar and carbs, this aids fat loss)
9:30 pre work out (scoop of oats and protein with water)
11:30 chicken, rice, tomato. Natural yogurt
2:30 chicken, rice, green beans, brocolli
5:30-6pm chicken, sweet potato and green beans
8pm eggs.

After 6pm I only eat protein when cutting, energy should come from essential fatty acids.

When bulking I eat more oats, potatoes and nuts like almonds.

Generally though if you up your lean protein, Chicken breast, Turkey, fish, steak
And cut processed fats and non natural sugars you will lose weight. There are different types of carbohydrates, putting it simply, when digested, all carbs turn into sugars, I aim to eat the healthiest, long digesting ones.

Im ranting lol. Been bodybuilding for 2.5 years and every day is a school day lol.

Wow that is discipline!! I'm guessing there's not much chocolate or alcohol in that diet?

I do slimming world and follow them on Facebook, people are always putting before and after pics of their weight loss it's very inspiring. So I've taken my before pictures, now just working on the after!! Got 9 weeks till the holiday, hoping that's going to be enough to see a difference!
J

It's the chocolate I miss the most, not really much of a drinker, can't stand the hangovers

I hear a lot of good things about slimming world, it's nice to have some motivation. At 1.5lb a week loss, you should nail a stone! That'll definitely be noticeable :) x

Hello ladies

Just checking in with a little snipet of inspiration...I feel like I've returned to the beginning of my mission to get a bit fitter (and lose some god damn weight) so hats off to you all keeping up with progress!

However, If like me- you start to lose track and go wayward from time to time and need a kick up the arse I recommend this film. Don't be put off by the gloomy title, I watched it last night and thought it was really uplifting and motivating....I went out and bought a juicer today and raided the fruit and veg shop! :D x Hope you're well x

It's called 'fat, sick and nearly dead' haha I just posted a trailer but the whole thing can be seen on youtube

Stacey Im sure I saw this on netflix...? I cant remember if I watched it though lol it certainly sounds familiar!
I will take a look when I get home as youtube doesnt work with works VPN.

Hope youre well?! Have a lovely mothers day on Sunday :)
