Hi girls,

I'm after some advice.

I'm currently in a long distance relationship, I have to earn the minimum threshold for my partner to move from the U.S to the U.K (£18,600 per annum) I currently earn around £15,000 per annum.

My questions are;

1) Will I have to pay back my maternity pay if i find another job either now or as soon as I return? ( I'm looking to return end of October, which means I've had 9 months off)

2) Will it look bad to the other company if I am interviewed whilst on maternity leave?

Hiya,

I'm pregnant and looking for a job but I left my old job a while back.

I suppose you need to think about references as some employers request these before interview, then your current employer will know what your doing.

Could you contact your hr dept and discuss with them about where you stand?

X

Whether you have to pay back maternity pay depends on what pay you've received. If you got anything over the standard (6 weeks at 90% of pay, followed by smp) then you'll likely have to pay it back.
It all depends on the company though

Standard Smp is paid by the government and you are entitled to it - so no you will not have to pay it back x
