Long days at the nursery...

I just wanted to say that I feel really uneasy and downright awful about my son having to spend most of his waking hours at the nursery. I know he loves it and it's good for him, but I think I'm just not ready for this yet.

He's been there today since 7:30am and I'm supposed to pick him up at 4:30pm - this is an exception but it might be every day for him in two weeks if my BF can't help like today. All I can think about is to just skip my lecture and pick him up... And then I know that he's actually enjoying himself a lot and that he is really independant.

I know it's me but I can't help it anyway.

:-(

Big hugs! It must be so hard :(
You are not alone in having to do this and are studying to help provide a great life for him, and he is in a safe, fun place where he will be well looked after.
My lo will be going to a childminder at 9 months for 3 days a week and 2 days will be with my parents - im looking forward to hearing about his development and interaction with other people/kids but I'm also dreading leaving him!

I'm sure it will get easier with time, just make sure you spend as much quality time as possible with your lo when not in nursery xx

It's really hard. In the past few weeks I've had to leave my two (admittedly older at 3.5 years old and 22 months old) from 8am-5pm on my work days as my dad is seriously ill so my parents can't collect them from nursery anymore. I've always found the idea difficult as a 9-hour day is something even most of us adults don't do when we're at work.

BUT... both my two have adapted brilliantly and I'm sure your LO will do too. If you're confident in the nursery providing the care your son needs, he will be ok. And you'll get used to it too, just give yourself time xx

I don't think that's longer than normal, I know people that unfortunately have to have their children in from 8 till 6 or even earlier in the morning. It does seem like a long time for us but I'm sure it flys by for them so try not to worry about it. My little boy has been going to nursery for 6 months and usually is there from 8 to 5 and I never worry about him as I know how much he loves it.
