Hi everyone...

I am making like a little plan book for me and my OH for the planning for when the baby comes.

I was wondering if you could help me with a few areas :)

I need a list for the things to :

Take in a labour bag

For my OH to take to the hospital for himself (like a camera, snacks and things)

Things to buy for a newborn baby

I know the lists are quite extensive but any help would be great :D

Thanks

:rotfl: Wow.. I need this info too...

Anyway..we made a list of all the equipment we need... I might have a kid already, but we have absolutely no baby equipment left from the first one for the following reasons a) I promised myself I wouldn't have any more :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and b) 8 years is a long time, and I got rid of everything considering I've moved twice and once was to a different country...

Here it goes...

Bottles x6
Dummies x4
Sterilizer
Bottle warmer/kitchen baby friend.
Breast pump
Formula milk.
(even if you breast feed, bottles are still needed either for water or expressing. Formula, I didn't get last time, and Tia often needed topping up...better to have a tub of formula and not use it, then not have one and a screaming baby to boot)

cot
mobile
changing mat
shelves
storage unit (we also have No furniture for the baby room)
Mattress
cot covers x6 (babies plan pooping and peeing for when you've just changed a set and haven't even put the dirty ones in the washing machine yet. so be prepared)
Head pillow thingy that goes round the cot (can't remember name)
Grow bag x2
Pushchair/travel system
Bouncer
Swing
travel sling.

Nappies
baby wipes
cotton wool
nappy bin
bath support (cheaper than baby baths and just as effective)
Top and tail bowl (sooo handy)
Baby monitor
sudacreme (ftw)
baby shampoo/bubble bath
baby oil

x7 vests
x7 baby grows
x7 socks
x4 going out outfits
x7 bibs
x2 warm baby gros for winter babies
x3 receiving blankets (Ok I have two of these still, one I made specially for Tia and the one that was my grandmothers, mothers, mine, and Tia's going home blanket)
x5 jumpers/cardigans (I knit so have made 3 already)
x3 little hats (to keep their lil heads warm)
Don't bother with newborn clothes, just by 0-3 months. Sleeves can roll up and you can put little socks on the ends of their feet over the baby gros to keep them up.

muslin squares (just too handy to explain)
Breast pads
Nipple cream
Always ultra night time pads (I couldn't be coping with the maternity pads, it was like having a brick between your legs and they never really absorbed very well, the night time ones work really well)
breast feeding bras
comfy nighties/breastfeeding ones
slipper socks
outfit for going home (I forgot last time, and the cr*p my ex brought down made me look like a bag lady)
cosmetics bag (you wanna look nice for all the mummy/baby fotos that EVERYONE will want to take)

And....erm.... thats it... i think

Most of my clothes will be brought on ebay through lots... just because it's cheaper. With Tia I went to a car boot sale and just picked up a load of clothes in different sizes. They were 50p/a quid each. So although it sounds a lot of clothes it's not really. Plus, baby's although small and sweet seem to be able to poop/puke/and wee on every single item of clothing you put on them during the day, and even if they have done it 5 times already, they wait until you put that clean baby gro on before they do it again.
:x
