Hi

I was wondering if anyone had a basic list of items which is needed for the baby and the nursery. Ie pram, cot etc.
Im a bit stuck :)

X

cot & bedding
moses basket
travel system
swing or bouncey chair or something
sterilizer & bottles equipment if ur bottle-feeding
nappies, wipes, cotton wool
baby bath & towel
changing mat
babygrows and sleepsuits, lots of, some newborn size, some 0-3 months
clothes & hats etc if u like but i never dressed millie when she was newborn, rather she was comfortable than stylish- so she lived in sleepsuits and babygrows!
toys and dummies
changing bag

thats all i can think of right now, will update if i think of more!

Have a peek over on the Mothercare site here, they have lists to get you started

Some of the things you of course won't need, but its pretty comprehensive and you can pick and choose what will suit your needs.

I'm with trixi about sleepsuits and babygrows over outfits of clothes. Much easier in the early months for changing and comfort. I only have 2 actual outfits in 0-3 for days out and stuff, and they are basic. Everything else is sleepsuits, vests and so on.

Baby monitor I'd add to the list.
Muslin squares or start wearing oatmeal tops

I wouldn't bother with a top & tail bowl. I never used ours because when I washed him, I used separate cotton wool balls each time.
Something I wish I had got sooner was one of these...although if you're having a summer baby it's a bit pointless (but they do go up in sizes for next winter!!)

My friend gave me her old one recently and it's FAB. The 5 point harness goes through it and it's shaped a bit like a baby towel so it wraps around them. It also has a hood which is great as Finn hates hats!

They look so cool I definately want to get one of those when I start buying stuff!

It's SO handy! You don't need to bother keep putting them in and out of a coat and it's double thickness too.
