Not that much to say really but the story behind Levis birth for me is very special.
3 yrs ago my mum died, her birthday was 21st Dec so a special day for me.
When we first found out i was pregnant and due in december i thought he would be born on our wedding anniversary on the 13th, his due date was the 9th, anyway i was told the most i would be allowed over was 12 days which took us to the 21st (mums birthday) but i dont usually go that far over due so thought it would happen before then.
The 9th came and went along with the 13th but i still didnt think i would hang on till the 21st.
As that date came closer i was more than happy to wait and hoped i would but felt a little bit of a fraud as it was almost as though it was being forced to happen on mums birthday.
THE DAY.
I was told to ring the hospital at 8.30am on the 21st to check how busy they were and to be told what time to go in, i was told to be there at 11am and go to the ward for an assesment so they could see the best way of induction, asi put the phone down i felt a warm wet sensation and my waters had gone, i couldnt believe it as i had never lost my waters with any of the others.
I wasnt getting any pains yet so we decided we would still go in at 11am as agreed. We got in the car at about 10.15 for the 25 minute journey to give us time to park etc and i had a couple of contractions on the way there that were a little bit on the painful side.
When we got there they hooked me up to the monitor to check baby and said they could see i had had 2 contractions 5 minutes apart and to be honest they were starting to hurt, they rang delivery who said i could go down there for the induction as my waters had gone anyway.
We went straight to delivery by which time i was definately getting pain, they checked me and said i was still only 3cm but that could change failry quickly as it was my 7th, it did
I was well onto the gas and air by now and desperate for chocolate but couldnt get any anywhere
It was now about 1pm and and the contractions were getting closer and more painful, the next 40 mins all sort of roll into one and the pains just came one on top of the other and i suddenly felt his head was there ready to push, after 19 minutes of pushing little Levi was born.
Total labour was just over 3 hours with 19 minutes pushing.
He weighed 9lb 11oz and is gorgeous
No stitches and just gas and air so pretty pleased
i have added just a couple of photos but am sure more will be added at some point.
