Well girls, another pointless post from me, but I just can't believe I have less than a week left in tri 2!! Will be moving next wednesday!! So exciting but a little scary too! I'm still so scared something might go wrong!

Had my GTT test and for anyone else due to have one, it isn't bad at all! The liquid just tasted like washing up liquid and water to me! Lol

Xx

I don't want to sound really stupid :/ but what's the GTT test? This is my first pregnancy and I'm still trying to figure all this stuff out... x

You can't believe it Flopsy?

*I* can't believe it :)

So glad it's all going so well for you! Washing up liquid doesn't sound nice to me :oooo:

No it wasn't particularly nice louiseb! They told me it was going to taste like lime jelly...what a lie! Lol!

A GTT test is the glucose tolerance test to test for gestational diabetes. Gestational diabetes typically develops after 24 weeks and the test involves fasting then having blood taken. After that you drink a concentrated glucose solution (washing up liquid flavour and acid green!) And wait 2 hours then have blood taken again to see how your body deals with the glucose. I get my results tomorrow, hope all is ok - I love my sweet treats!

Xx

Thank you flopsy!! And the best of luck to you :) xx

I can't believe how fast it's all going Flopsy! I remember us announcing our BFP's and then bang, we're on the home run!! I want Tri3 to go a bit slower so I can enjoy my boy being in my belly, I don't get time during the day to take in the enormity of what we're doing! lol x

well girls ive been in tri 3 about 2-3 weeks now and its absolutely flying by!! Ill be 30 weeks in a few days and i just cant believe ill have such little time left, im getting scared!! x

Hi Flopsybunny. I'm due to have my GTT on 21st March & I'm allowed to drink Lucozade (thank goodness, cos I've a phobia about dodgy tasting medicine etc.) Can I ask how they take the blood? Do they do the pin prick on your finger or do they take it in the other way of the good old needle in the arm?
I'm over to Tri 3 on Monday & can't believe where time has gone. I'm the same as you with paranoia too - I will only be happy that everything is ok once bubs is here safely in my arms & that we're both ok. I don't take anything for granted during pregnancy & I'm a natural born worrier!!!

It is quite scary isn't it! I actually want tri 3 to fly by so that I can stop worrying that she is ok inside me. If I don't feel movements for any length of time I worry!

Xx

Hey Flopsy, is it that time already; god scarey stuff. I will be following in three weeks time assuming all continues to be okay!!

Time flys xx

Cherrelle... you are really far gone chick.. good luck x

I'll be over in Tri 3 soon enough too... I'm just like you and can't believe it! The worry doesn't seem to have stopped much, but I guess that's normal :D
I've got a scan again at 28weeks so that'll be really reassuring and Bomp is good and wriggly which keeps my calmer.
I can pretty much get him to wriggle on command by stroking my belly, so if I'm having a worry then I just chill on the sofa for a few mins and wait for the wriggles :D Makes him sound a bit like a performing dog, lol 'wriggling on command' :p
I don't think I'll relax totally until he's here, but again I'm guessing that's normal :D
Big hugs to all Tri 2-ers.. it really does fly by! x

It does fly! Sorry sunnyb, didn't answer your question about the blood test. It was taken by needle in the arm. I was lucky to have a patient, gentle nurse and didn't feel a thing!

Also, had the results back and all is ok and my iron levels were fine too. So that is good to know!

Xx

glad the results were good, one less thing to worry about :)

Im feeling very big and comfortable but not stressed anymore now im in tri 3, hopefully youll be the same x

Thanks for letting me know.
Glad everything came back ok for you. I'm a bit worried about my test, as I'm always thirsty & keep suffering with headaches. Hope I've not got diabetes. Although I was very anaemic during Tri 3 of my last pregnancy :(

At least I know what to expect when I go now x
