39 plus 5 sunday the 10th 11pm

I was layed in bed and my waters broke. just a small gush to start with ran to the loo and looked blood in it and kept gushing. contractions started every 10 mins. Rang my sister my birthing partner and she came to pick me up.

1130 rang hospital they said if contractions get stronger come in if not pop in at 8am to get checked.

1am contractions were about 5-6 mins apart and water kept coming i tryed to sleep but was too excited/scared carryed on like this until 6 am and they stopped.

8am went to MAU got checked they said waters had gone and i was only 1cm.
I needed to be induced and it would be at 6pm but ring delivery suit before to make sure. as i couldnt go 24 hours with broken waters.

6pm rang delevery they said they have no beds they would ring me back shortly.

8pm nothing so i rang back still no beds

10pm still no room i was getting v upset as it was a hour and it would have been 24 hours and i was getting worried about infection

11.30pm they called me told me to come up. i got there and they started me on antibiotics i would have to have this all the way through untill i had the baby. just waiting for the hormone drip but they were bisy so waited.

tuesday 4am no one had come to start me off only to give me my next dose of antibiotics i really lost it. i was crying i haddnt slept as i thaught i would have allready had the baby by now and they were so busy. so told the midwife who came in i was going home!! she said she understood but would talk to the duty manager and see what they could do.

4.30am They found a midwife to start me off.she would only be there till 8am. she came in popped my waters wow it felt odd. luckly i had gas and air to help it really calmed me down it did sting a bit though. they got the drip up and started me off.

this is were is gets blury

contractions started and got really painfull quickly as baby was back to back. i had the urge to push as i was about 2-3 cms and i had no pain relief they kept turning the drip up it was getting so painfull and i couldnt sit down and i was too tired to walk. so decided i needed a epidural.

Epidural number one.

it was hard to try and stay still as every few mins i was trying to push. but the
anaesthetist got it in and i relaxed for about 3mins untill i realised it didnt work. only my left thigh was numb. she gave me a top up stright into the site. i didnt work. she tryed another drug it didnt work. by this time i was in alot of pain dilating and the pushing getting more intense. but started on the gas & air. the anaesthetist got 3 of her colleges and they all tryed diffrent drugs diffrent doses by this time i was begging her to make the pain stop she stayed in for about 5 hours and kept trying.

Epidural number two.

Failed! they said they had never seen anyone not take to it like i had. my right leg was out of control and couldnt stop shaking and thats a side effect ot the epi. the
anaesthetist just stayed in the room and kept trying and even helped me with gas and air she really could see how much pain i was in and i was begging for another

7pm i was 10cms. i had well and truly lost it! i begged for forcepts i had been pushing for about 8 hours and was sooo tired. 1 push babys head was there.
it took 30mins to get him out but i finally did it! i was team yellow when they said it was a boy i was soo surprized!

I had to have ALOT of stitches about 10. but it was worth it! and if i can give birth anyone can!!.
