last growth scan today

i had my last growth scan today to make sure wee one's still puttin on the beef and i almost fell off the bed when she said his wee belly was measuring in at 41wks. although his head was measuring in it roughly 37wks. was a bit worried about the difference but they assured me it was nothing to worry about and that couldnt get a proper measurement of the head cause he was so far down.

however, i got checked by my mw last week (i see her every 2 weeks) she said he was still only 1/5 engaged which he has been since 33wks. although the mw i seen today never actually put her hands on my stomach shes written on my notes there was still 4/5 of his head free (dnt know how she knew that without having a feel).

im a bit worried he's not dropped anymore though at such a late stage and was just wondering if anyone else knew if this was normal ??

If your 3/5 engaged or babe is - means hes over half way engaged and will be on his way very shortly! They couldn't measure his/hes head properly because its so far down in your pelvis - good sign for you as your due any day - hope that helps x

I get growth scans every 4 weeks but they never explain the measurements or even the things on the graph of the note book so i have to wait until i see my midwife as she is the only one that has helped us understand things lol. Prob cos we have mardy sonographers over here lol.
Although by the graph we got given my baby boy is average for his size and the only thing thats a little over average is his belly i was quite when she said that. At the min he weighs roughly 2 pounds and im 28 weeks now. I'm quite glad hes average an has a bigger belly because due to my BMI i was panacking bout his weight and size until now x

Some don't fully engage until you're in labour, don't worry. And I wouldn't let the difference in measurements worry you either - as they said it is hard to get a very accurate head measurement when they're getting themselves ready! From the belly measurement it sounds like your little man is doing well though

i've had one growth scan last friday, and the sonograoher person asked what it was for?!?
i told her that i was referred by a consultant, and she asked yeah but what for...and i was like for a growth scan and she was like what am i supposed to check???

well he's engaged now anyway, midwife told me when i seen her 3 days ago. so at least my wee lazy lumps thinking about making his way out into the world but every other wee niggle ive been having have stopped the past week. just when i thought things were going get interesting. i know he'll come when he's ready but god im getting impatient lol want to meet my baby boy!!

the midwife had a good feel of my stomach and rekoned that even though his belly seemed a few weeks bigger on my last growth scan she still didnt think i was gonna have a big baby. she said maybe it was a posability he hadnt emptied his bladder before the scan was taken and his belly was all bloated.bless!
guess only time will tell

not really any niggles but i have been getting awful head and back aches the past few days
