My midwife just told me today a bood test came back and that I have really low level of iron and I wonder if that could be reason why I've been dizzy and I've started get really black badly bruises all over my legs etc, if I example itch a point on my body there will be a bruise there a couple hours later.. find it a bit strange... Going ro start taking iron tablets tomorrow x

It is probably why you've been dizzy, if your iron is low your blood cells can't cary enough oxygen round. Anaemia can make you dizzy and tired etc. Hope the iron tablets work quickly for you. x

Yeah bruising easily can be a sign of anaemia as can dizziness. I've been on iron tablets alot throughout my 20's and back on them at 28 weeks. They have defo helped. Word of warning - don't freak out when you're poo turns black ;) its just the tablets

x

Lol thanks for the warning x was told to cut down the coffee too lol

Sure you've already been told this but don't take the iron tablets with cups of tea etc as it stops you absorbing iron, take it with orange juice as the vitamin c helps you absorb the iron. x

Yeah I think caffiene can prevent iron from absorbing into your body or something like that

my first blood tests came back that i was low on iron and they forgot to tell me, so they took another lot of bloods the other day to see if i still same and need them how cud they forget to tell me something like that?

I know same happened to me, doc forgot to tell me.. but what i dont get is I'm so full of energy. Thought with lacking iron one would be tired... Also been waking up everynight feeling my heart beating really fast..

Hope the iron tablets help. And remember to eat a LOT of hi-fibre rich foods!! My number 2s just haven't been the same since I started mine at 18 weeks haha My midwife here (Northern Ireland) says that its their policy that pregnant mums are advised to start taking iron tabs from 18 weeks gestation. x
