I did it in a mixed group and loved it! I got up to red belt and really enjoyed it although the contact stuff wasn't much my thing i loved the routines and pad work! super sweaty and probably never been as fit as when i did it for all over fitness!
Not exactly kick boxing but a similar thing as part of martial arts, for 20 years.
There is nth more liberating than that...it's a little hard at the beginning but soon you will love it....
