Hi everyone
wasnt sure where was best to post this

Any of you Ladies or your partners in a carer that entitles you to Keyworker housing?

My James is MOD policeman and is entitled but all we've heard from those who have used it is negative feedback.
That it dose not help you in the long run and you still end up owing someone just as much money as you would with a bank or even more as the keyworker sysetem finds you a place but then add's on extra interest on your payments??? :? :(

Has anyone had this id love to hear from someone with postive experinaces of using keyworker housing :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

We want to see if it's worth us using it as our mortage adivser said even though we've managed to saved £12.000 between us it's still not enough.
This would cause the bank who lend us the money towards a mortgage to penilise us and add extra interest to our loan. As the amount we've saved is not going to lower the over all loan to the banks satisfaction.

He said we are better off renting and saving (how can you rent and save there is not enough left :? ) He said we would need an extra £5.000 to satisfy the banks (Housing down here is very expensive 1 bed flats go for £145.00)
Or stay at james parents for another year and save

so any postive experiances of keyworker entitlement would be very much welcome :cheer: or if not to let us know its not an avenue to take

thank you
sarah

Hi

My friends husband is a policaman, they took their mortgage through the system & are happy with it. Also my sil is a teacher & uses the key worker system in London, again happy with it.

When I finish my nurses training, we will also be using the system, I have only heard good repors from it as the reason that the people that I know have taken it is to help them get the mortgage that they need. For example when I qualify, with our joint incomes, we should be able to get a mortgage without the system for around £440,000 but the houses we are looking at around our area for a 4 bed character house is around £500,000 so although there is added interest, it helps us to aquire the mortgage that we need.

Hope that makes sense  :)
