You can cut his nails now, just get a pair of baby nail cutters. Plus, use socks on his hands. Gloves, he'll pull off easy.

I have had this problem with Joseph for a long time and found out baby socks are better than mittens.

yes i cut his nails pretty much everyday lol. but i just peel them. i find the nail cutter too dangerous, i'm not good at using.

But I swear by the 'sock trick', using baby socks are a god send, they really do stop JoJo from scratching himself.

yeah but babies can scratch themselves all day and all night so do you use socks all day and all night??? how do you do it?

I was using socks as much as I could, if I was holding Joseph, I wouldn't use the socks, as I could stop him scratching. But otherwise, I would put the on him when he slept, Joseph scratched a hell of a lot more when he was tired or sleeping. I could go some days without the socks but other days he'd have to wear them through out the day and night (but only when I wasn't in close range to keep an eye out).

It truly does work though. I think scratch mittens are too much money, when socks do exactly the same job but better

but Kenzo has started to suck his fingers/fists for comfort so i don't think he will like it too much but it's an excellent idea, thanks

Oh babies don't care if they suck their fingers, a dummy or clothes! Their mouth's are a sensory organ, so everything tastes so amazing or different, in time.

If Kenzo tends to scratch with one hand, rather than the other, try putting the sock on, only that hand. I think, in time they realise they can't scratch, so they stop?

aww bless! he is so cute! melissa used to scratch her face up loads, i didnt bother with the millions of scratch mittens we had coz she just wiggled them off anyway. she grew out of it tho she dont do it any more even when her nails are long. baby nail clippers from boots are good, u gotta do them while babba sleeps tho! and with nimble fingers lol
