Just got back from midwife

and she said you have 3 choices as i am 40 wk plus 3 days overdue!!

1. Have a sweep
2. She could make an appointment for me to see a consultant
3. or wait and do nothing and let baby arrive in its own time!!

So i chose 2 and 3! i have an appointment for the consultant next Monday but hopefully as the midwife said i wont need to go next Monday as i will have delivered by then! so fingers crossed LO will make an appearance very soon.

I am also measuring big for my dates, i had a growth scan a few weeks ago and everything turned out to be fine, i measured 42cm today so in a wk the bump has only grown 1cm!! the other midwife told me that it grows about 1cm per week anyway!!

I am off to make some raspberry tea now and hope it induces labour!!! lol

Good luck!! Hope Monday's appointment isn't needed and baby arrives before then Even if you do make the appointment, make sure you stick to your guns whatever you decide to do!! Oh, and make sure it's a bloody consultant you see and not a trainee doc ( Long story!)

just out of interest, what made you decline the sweep?

i would like the baby to arrive on its own without intervention*sp, plus i have heard that it hurts too!maybe i am being a bit soft!!!
