Had my growth scan today, as baby was breech up until last week and being only 4ft 11 they were worried he may be too big for me to give birth

I was so nervous i hardly slept last night - i was worried that he would be small and i would get told off for drinking coffee / red bull and something would be wrong  I dont know why i got so worried about silly things.

The lady in ultrasound was lovely, much nicer than others weve seen and was chaty all the way through.
Long and short of it:

* He's still quite clearly a boy (no sex change in the womb  and mum's knitted blue cardi's wont go to waste)
* He is perfectly in proportion (with ever so slightly short legs, taking after his mum!)
* He is head down and quite low (she said it prob wont be long till he starts engaging)
* Bum, feet and hands were in the exact spot i thought they were (how clever am I , love that spinning babies website )
* He is estimated to be 5lbs at the moment
* 1/2 lb to add per week on average so estimated birth weight of 7.5-8lb's at term

I am so much happier now thats done.
The consultant said at my last appointment that unless he was an extra large baby or still breech at 36 weeks then i could most likely have a natural birth - so all is looking good at the moment :D

I got shown every part of him and he was sucking one of his hands, and with the other hand he was holding his foot - so sweet :) . I got a little piccie of him sucking his hand and the lady said i can relax a bit now and try and rest before the big day.

Had lunch with mum after and she told me how she had 3 c-sections due to complications and that we were all quite small (6lb 3, 6lb 10 and 6lb 13). She also told me how she has no stretchmarks at all, where as mine are "like the train tracks at Euston" she said :rotfl: :wall: I was sure stretchmarks run in the family though ? So maybe i wont take after her afterall ? Time will tell i suppose.

So, Xmas is going to be one hectic time for us - symptom spotting over Xmas dinner :wall: - but i dont care now - i am just so happy he looks a god size and i am healthy - i can start looking forward to it all now :cheer:

Oh I love a good happy post.........thats all such great news

Oh what a relief for you! I am having a growth scan on Monday and then at 32 and 36 weeks as I have had quite a lot of bleeding earlier on so just checking everything is ok - but I know what you mean about the worrying all the little things seem to become escalated in your own head when actually most of the time everythings fine! xx
