Hey,

Tell me to stop interfereing, but I run 3 or 4 different phpbb forums being a complete geek.

Have you thought about using groups to manage your moderators. Would make the index look much neater, especially as you are adding to your moderator count.

Just an idea, tell me to shut up if you like. :)

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your suggestion - I'll mention it to the others and see what they say.

Cheers!

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your suggestion - can you clarify what you mean though? I understand about groups, but can you explain what you mean about making the index page look neater? Do you mean reducing the number of moderator names underneath each forum, by limiting the number of forums that each person moderates? Or something else?

I think he means you add all the mods to a group and it's the group that moderates each forum, rather than 6 individuals

Ah, thanks Tracy :D

Well, it's something to consider for the future if we were to take on more than the current number of moderators, however I think for now I'm happy with the way it is. I don't really think it looks that bad?

Anyway, the way it is set at the moment, everybody can instantly see who our moderators are which I think is a nice, more friendly way of presenting that information to our members :)

Hi Laura,

I certainly don't think it looks bad! And yes, that is what I meant, but as I said it is only a suggestion. Let me know if you do decide to use it in the future, and you need a hand setting it up, or any other aspect of it for that matter :D

Thanks,

Paul

Thats interesting - because i too run a phpbb forum, and i too dont use that feature either.

I think as Laura says it is easier for new people to see whos in charge so to speak, and therfor a bit more practicle than the groups, although i have got a mods group running, i just tend not to use it.

:D

I think it's nice to instantly see all moderator names too, and it's quick and easy to contact one if needs be just by going to the forum index, I have it the same on my forum, I think people prefer it as not everyone is up on finding groups/moderators etc :)
