Hello all,
My daughter is turning 5 months old on 5th August. I eagerly would love to have a beautiful but safe kind of jewellery for her. Anyone has any ideas regarding what kind of jewellery should I have for her?
Thanks.:)

Your baby has a lifetime of jewellery wearing ahead of her. Why not let her be a baby for a while and save the jewellery for when she's old enough to choose her own?

Sorry but I find hanging jewlerry off babies abit vain - it's for mothers benefit to dress up their daughters up. Just don't see the point - it has no gains

Well those comments were helpful!
I haven't seen any jewellery for babies apart from silver bangles for when baby is christened but when I had my daughter I bough a charm for my pandora bracelet to mark such a momentous occasion- maybe you could do something like that?

Aside from the fact that it can be a cultural thing to put certain jewellery on your baby, I would just be a little wary at 5 months as everything goes into a baby's mouth. Maybe wait until baby is 1 - they will grow so quickly at 5 months, they may only wear it for a few weeks which would be a waste.

I'd also be inclined not to put jewellery on a baby purely because of what my eldest was like for putting absolutely everything in his mouth.

It's not something I've bothered looking at with having two boys, but generally the only stuff I've seen has been keep sake type things like christening bracelets.

My little girl wears her silver christening bracelet. She's 3 now but wore it from 6 months onwards. Not everyday. But quite a lot. It doesn't fit her now.

My little girls has worn her christening bracelet from when she was 7 months and shes now 3. Its an expandable one. Its never bothered her shes never tried to eat it or take it off.
It will come off when it breaks if not before she starts big school in 2o16. Nursery have never told me to take it off.

Thank you friends for those helpful suggestions. This really helps a lot. I love the idea of christening bracelet a lot.

Could you buy something like a pandora bracelet and add a charm to it for special occasions, such as birthdays, then give it to her when she's a bit older? I know it's not something she can wear right now, but will be a lovely gift with lots of meaning as she grows up? Xx

Yeah! That really sounds good. I would love to buy Pandora bracelet for her when she's a bit older. :thanks:

It's something I'm definitely going to do if I ever have a girl :-) I love my pandora, each charm has its own special meaning, I'd be devastated if I ever lost it!!! Xx

One of my friends suggested me of mum and me pearl bracelet - indicating a special bond between mother and daughter. Anyone having any idea about it? Is it a safe kind of jewellery?
