Shocked to be writing this the day before i was due for induction but couldnt be happier!
James was born at 11.32 tuesday morning weighing a huge 11lb3oz heres my story :)
On Saturday morning i woke to find i was bleeding a little so i headed down to hospital to get checked. Everything looked ok they thought bleeding was just from my cervix but as my bp was slightly high and the trace was showing some contractions they decided to keep me in thinking i was in early labour. I spent all that day bouncing on a ball and walking but knew nothing was happening as i had no pains. The doctors decided they wanted to keep me in because of bleeding and bp and as i was booked in for induction on the 15th they would induce me earlier if i hadnt gone over the weekend. So a couple of frustrating nights stuck in hospital and listening to ladies in labour! I was glad i knew baby was ok though and i was in the best place. As it was a bank holiday in Belgium on monday i waited until Tuesday morning when at 6am the midwife inserted gel into my cervix, me thinking it was going to be a slow process was very shocked to see trace was showing regular contractions within half an hour!! I was then moved to a labour room and left on monitoring to observe the contractions which rapidly got stronger and closer and at 9.30 i felt a huge pop and my waters flooded everywhere! Que me now in a panic as hubby was still on his way but thankfully he got there just after. I was examined and they said i was 4cm it was getting unbearably painful quickly so i asked for an epidural. I was wheeled down to theater to get that put in which was a painful journey to say the least. While waiting for iti suddenly felt like i needed to push! They checked to find i was 10cm!! No time for epidural now so they raced me back upstairs where my shocked hubby was waiting. It was all systems go from there and i was pushing as hard as i could but just wasnt getting anywhere. My doctor decided that i needed help as babys head was big so he used a ventouse to pull him out much to my relief as it was over at 11.32 and my boy was laid on my chest. They decided to take him to neo natal to be checked over for a couple hours due to quick delivery and a cut he had on his head he got from the ventouse. I was kept in labour ward for 3hours as i was losing a bit too much blood but once i was ok me and James were reunited on the maternity ward, he was fine and had been cooed over by all the young medical students in the nursery who called him super baby as he was a huge 11lb 3oz no wonder i needed help getting him out!!He is absolutely gorgeous and worth every bit of pain of not getting any pain relief!
Breasrfeeding is going well despite me worrying hed been away from me for a while before i could feed hhim
Home now which feels strange after being in hospital all week, just cant stop looking at my boy and thinkin

Ughh phone playing up was trying to say thinking how just 2 days ago he was inside me!

Well done you! Sounds like it all happened quickly once it got started properly. I don't envy you being stuck with a load of labouring women for two days though!! Hope you're making up for it now with lots of cuddles. xxx
