Birth story, kinda...
Was strange but good,
The epidural was as bad as i remembered but i coped, the section was the weirdest thing i've even known in my life Rach' s (my friend) was right with her *washing up in ya belly* description just while they are doing it they are sat on your chest
I had 12 to 15 litres of fluid in me which explains why i was in soooo much pain, filled all the suction buckets, the ones on the side of the operating bed, and then soaked 4 of the operating team too.
Damian was sat by my head stroking me and my hair, they said baby will be born in a minute and we both kinda looked at each other, then we heard him cry, Damians bottom lip was quivering and then he cried and set me off.
They announced he was a boy, showed him to D over the screen and then took him to be weighed and wiped, the midwife then tried called D over to cut the cord as they cut it long and dad gets to trim it as it isnt possible for them to cut it on the operating table but he was in such a daze he looked blankly at her till she said OI DADDDDY then he clicked lol
They put a nappy and a hat on James but didnt dress him so we could all have a skin to skin cuddle which we managed in recovery D held him in a towel and kept looked terrified but amazed all at the same time.
The surgical team then stitched me up and we were moved out into a recovery/holding room where everything became all the more real.
I've been VERY lucky so far with pain and really the only snags i have had as been with my old scar tissue tumor and hernia being a problem the actual section is fab and doesn't even hurt!
James was quite poorly for the first 4 days with jaundice and also being very mucussy (sp) he's not fed and kept anything down so lost very nearly a pound in weight he's gone from 9lb 6oz to 8lb 7oz.
His feeding is picking up though and seems the vomiting is under control a bit more as hes on breast and bottle top ups.
We had to go back to the hospital today to get him weighed if he had not of put weight on they were going to admit him to SCBU, However he's put on an oz in 2 days so they are happy with that and let us home.
So there ya go thats kinda it really now the fun really begins.....
