Hello everyone. Here I am on my first TTC diary and it's a few days before Christmas 2009. Hubby and I have been married for 5 months and I've been off Microgynon since April. Currently TTC only every fortnight :-( pathetic i know.

Diagnosed with Uterus Didelphys (twin wombs) in 2004 and also scarring to my left fallopian tube due to reoccurring infection. So far Ive had:
  • 3 bouts of a nasty infection in my teens
  • Unnaturally heavy periods due to having two wombs
  • Ten years on the pill aged 13 - 23
  • A cyst caused by fluid build up on my left uterus - later removed
  • Operation to seperate part of a septum between my two uteri
  • Laparoscopy to discover the health of my fallopian tubes
So here I am, ready to start TTC with only one working fallopian tube and a high risk of miscarriage if I do conceive! I would like to try naturally though before going down the IVF route. I am aged 26 and figure I should try for a few years naturally first.

Hubby and I are very happy but baby sex isn't as often as I would like although is much increasing (hubby gets very tired with work and has a much lower drive than me!)

So that's me!
Now...tell me about you! Anybody out there with blocked tubes? I would like to hear from you.

Great reads I have found:
Zita West's guide to getting pregnant
The dummies guide to Fertility and Infertility
Eyewitness Herbal Remedies (recommend anti-inflammatory and fertility herbs)

 none of the above problems but wanted to say hello :)

Very strange happenings this week. After a few too many bailey's over the festive season hubby and I had the baby dance several times. Bang on ovulation day. Felt myself ovualting on right hand side too (my good side).

I was due on my P friday December 1st and no period has arrived yet. Did 2 tests - both negative. Now i've spoke to my mum who said that all her tests came back negative back in the day... I'm feeling really run down with cold. Twinges in the womb area; aching boobs; huge apetite; no reaction to smells or any sickness though...

I think i'll leave it another week and then go to docs. I've never been late. I wonder if my double uterus has anything to do with detection of pregnancy hormone?

Hi j_pink,

I only have one working fallopian tube, I have terrible scarring on my right side and the ovary on that side has restricted blood supply so is extremely small and not much use! But my left side is all healthy, I also have a diagnosis of endometriosis which doesn't help fertility.

I have a healthy 2 year old little girl and I had no trouble conceiving her thank goodness! She was a total surprise as we were not actively trying. We are now in the process of TTC for baby no. 2, we are supposed to be holding off for a few months but we haven't made a concious effort to use contraception! Hopefully we won't have too long to wait before I get a BFP but I am not counting on it as I know I have so many gynae problems.

My consultant told me that having only the one working tube and ovary shouldn't have too much of an effect on my ability to conceive as the working side often compensates. I was much more concerned than he was about the whole thing and luckily for me he has been right, so hopefully that won't cause too many problems for you.

I have no experience of Uterus Didelphys but fingers crossed for you hunni that you will get your BFP very soon!

Good luck x x x
