IVF ladies - advice needed please

I think I'll be low risk for OHSS due to my amh levels as well but I think the water helps reduce the side effects as well so it's worth it. Let me know what your clinic says about the milk lisey - I looked on the internet had ended up more confused! The thing that is swaying me is that after 2 weeks on buserelin I had 11 follicles whereas last month I only had 8 and last year it was 9 so I'm wondering if the extra protein has helped with this?

I'm not enjoying stimming - I got off lightly with down reg so was hoping this would continue but it hasn't. I've had twinges since day 1 and now have a low level headache all day, back ache and just generally feeling crap. I'm on day 5 of stims now so should be nearly half way through - my leaflet says stims is usually 10-12 days and they've only given me enough gonal f for 12 days. I've got a blood test tomorrow to see if the dose is right xx

Yeah I got confused when I looked it up too. Everything is always conflicting regarding ttc!!
Sorry to read that the stimming is making you feel rubbish, at least you are half way through now and you are on your way to egg collection xx

I wish I'd been given a list of things to help with implantation! Luckily I eat healthily anyway and include plenty of water, so the implantation failure must have been caused by something else.

Thanks lisey - in a weird way I kind of want the side effects to ramp up as it makes me feel that the drugs are working - ha I'm never happy! The clinic have advised me to up my gonal f after today's blood test from 225 to 262.5. I'm hoping that's a good sign as it's not being changed that much so hopefully I'm on track. First scan is Friday so we'll see!

I asked the nurse about milk and she says they don't recommend as there's no research to back it up. I think I'll have the odd glass of milk on days I've not had a lot of protein but otherwise I'll try and get it through my food rather than milk.

Blueflower - I think the milk is said to help egg quality rather than implantation - I think you had a good fertilization rate anyway so I'm sure it wouldn't have made any difference.

xx

I think I am going to do the same as you, have a little extra milk than I normally would but try and get protein in other ways too. I am going to speak to my acupuncturist today and see what her take on it is.
I think I will probably be the same and want to feel some effects of stimming cos otherwise I will panic that nothing is happening xx

Sounds like a good idea x

Fingers crossed for the scan tomorrow it's all getting closer :-)

What have you been eating ladies ? My appetite has been pants so I've been struggling in the day and been having a ok dinner in the eve but with time and puppy and work they've been a bit easy dinners x

My appetite has been fine so far but have been craving junk food, think its cos AF is here.
I spoke to my acupuncturist today and she said according to Chinese medicine milk isn't good and causes a damp environment, she said to just make sure I get plenty of protein in other foods. I am going to go with this as I really hate milk and I don't want to be bloated from all the milk and water. She did also say to eat lots of warm foods as it helps with the 'damp'. I know this may sound bonkers to some lol but I love acupuncture and follow what I can of it. Thought worth mentioning if anyone is interested xx

Does sound really interesting, I am struggling with milk on some days

I do get what she means, it's all so confusing isn't it !

I've been trying to have soups for lunch as it's getting too cold for salads but haven't been finishing them and then the other night I had to get home to puppy and we had nothing apart from oven chips and sausages ! How bad is that x

Going to try and increase with my chicken and get some more slow cooker recipes for dinner

Is the acupuncture worth a go ? X

Sausage and chips is ok the odd time, We can't eat pure protein and fruit and veg all day, every day. I know we have to be healthy but I am still carrying on relatively as normal. Will add more protein though, am thinking porridge for breakfast (have this anyway), eggs for lunch, meat for dinner and snack on nuts. I am hoping that gives me enough in a day.
I personally love acupuncture and have seen positive changes in cycle since starting it, its very relaxing and calms me even on the most stressful day. She is so knowledgeable too. I told her today that I have been getting bad headaches and it aches behind my eyes, she said the down regulation drugs affect the liver and kidneys and the affect on the liver would be causing the ache behind my eyes, she knows everything in detail and has an explanation for everything xx

That is true, I think I'm just trying not to obsess too much about it

Have got soup today and went and bought lots of fruit, I've been snacking on nuts and then tonight hubby fancies gamon so will have that with an egg and loads of veg, I'm going to try and reduce my bread / potato x

The acupuncture does sound really nice, I may look into it x

Did you drink milk during IVF and what was the outcome?

My clinic don't give any advice on diet in their booklet and the internet is a minefield! I've read lots of people saying they are drinking a litre of milk a day but I've now read conflicting info that says milk can make your lining slippery and hamper implantation :( I don't know what to do now!

I love milk, but only drank a "normal" amount of milk every day (a glass maybe). I'm 34 weeks pregnant now:)

I'm not keen on milk but have skimmed milk in cereal daily and in tea. Also after IVF I treated myself to a couple of chocolate milkshakes and hot chocolates! Hopefully that's enough!

Lol my nurse said today, oh the milk thing is really once collection and transfer happens lol Grrrr it says different in the book oh well ha ha Wil chill for a few days with just a glass. X

Esperanza can't believe you are 34 weeks that's flown by :-)
