I've put on a stone by 13 weeks! &I've got variscose vei

Just thought I'd share my amazement at that. I weighed myself at my mum's today and couldn't believe it. My mum confided that my gran had asked her if I was having twins...everyone has commented on the size of my bump so far. I know that most of it's a spare tyre... :(

Oh, and the back of one of my thighs has turned into a big, ugly road map of varicose veins :cry: I can even "feel" them :puke: Why am I getting those so bloody early?

Other than those small trifles, I'm feeling great - really "up" and delighted to be pregnant :dance:

My friend is 32 weeks PG - she has gone from 12 and half stone up to ........... 17 stone 8lbs!!!!! :shock:

I really dont want that to happen!! I have put on a stone so far. But I'm dieting and going swimming now a lot - hoping to slow it down!!

I have a rough idea of what I was pre-pregnancy, I've not been weighed once by midwives etc and haven't weighed myself (scales were banned to a box under the bed when that BFP appeared!) so who knows what I've gained and what I haven't. All I know is that I'm blissfully happy and don't care if it's 1 stone or 3 stone etc...it will come off after the birth and for now this type of weight gain is the best feeling ever. Ignore others comments, enjoy your pregnancy to it's fullest! xx

Here here that is the best way to look at it, you put on weight for a reason and that being you are building up fat deposit's for when you need to breast feed baby and if you do breast feed the weight will just drop off.....

Pigletpoo what do you mean you are dieting? Dieting in pregnancy can't be good for you, trying to loose weight while pregnant is not a good idea as i said up there you put it on for a reason to help with breast feeding and your body store's extra that your baby will take from you towards the end of pregnancy, correct me if i am wrong anybody but isn't that not a good thing to do ??
 
hi all, i am quite surprised cus with my DD i put on 4 stone but this time i have only pt on 7 or 8 lbs so far so looking good. i never quite lost te weight from my first pregnancy but i am detrmined to lose it and more this time!! i still everything i want tho at the moment the way i see it the healthy eating diet starts in september lol. xxxxx
 
Piglet has probably just started eating healthier and doing some exercise I imagine not actually dieting? :? Wish I had the willpower but I just cant stop eating chocolate :lol:
I've put on over a stone already but have decided to just eat what I feel like during pregnancy and deal with the extra weight when LO is here :D
 
i got varicose veins on my leg, 4lumps thought i found 2more earlier but i dontt hink they are think its just stretchmarks. i have to keep eye on my varicose veins cause if they start swelling or getting bigger then i have to have them removed.

Snuggle is bang on! (thanks!) :hug: I am just eating healthier and exercising more. Swimming mostly. It may not bother some people putting on loads of pregnancy weight, but it does me, and if I can do something to try and stop myself feeling so down about it then I will.
My doc and midwife have both told me that the slimming world plan is safe to follow during pregnancy, so I am not starving myself at all - just being careful.
I have absolutely no intention of breast feeding - the thought makes me cringe. And again thats down to personal choice. But by not breast feeding my doc says the weight comes off slower afterwards, so the less i put on to begin with, the better for me.

I used to weigh 16 and half stone but lost 4 and a half pre pregnancy so I was 12 stone. Still overweight, but I felt a lot better. I don't want to go back to what I was before.

Sorry if it sounds like a rant.... I just wanted to get my point accross. I have asked doctor and midwife, and watching what i eat is going to do far less harm to my baby than being depressed all the time is. But thats just me. I've always been odd.... :roll:

I think every lady is different, since i have been pregnant i've lost 10kg which is about 22lb's!!!
But i have gone off EVERYTHING sweet and eat little, because i am overweight they dont see if as a problem, in fact i got congratulated by the hospital :rotfl:
Baby is fine bang on the center of the centile lines so nothing to worry about there.
I think so long as you listen to your body and eat healthy it should be a problem? :D

My best friend cry's every day because she has gone up to 17stone 8lbs, I really feel for her becasue it has always been a big issue in her life too. :cry:

I totally relate to that....i was a bit like your friend i put on 5 stone with Alfie...and i felt so depressed ALL of the time...i just could not control what i ate it was like a vicious circle.
This time i have really watched what i have been eating and so far have put on about 6 pounds which compared to my first pregnancy is a definate marked improvement.
I did what you did and joined slimming world...got approval from my midwife but i stopped going in the end anyway as i still had my odd little food fancies and couldn't stick to it 100% but i am still eating healthily and i am so pleased with myself...the change in my mood from my 1st pregnancy is completely different. I also do lots of walking which has loads of benefits.
Also like you i had a weight problem having gone from 14 and a half stone down to 10 stone :cheer: to then put it all back on and loads more during pregnancy was truly horrible so i see exactly where you are coming from :hug:
 
yeh i put on loads of weight with first and it left me feelin really depressed after and took me ages to get it off agin and then it never stayed off. you should be really proud that you have the willpower to healthy eat during pregnacny cus i giv in all the time but im crap even wen i aint preggers lol. will definately be tuffer wen baby comes and can diet ho. my mw says you dont really need to put any extra weight on in in first trimester and only about 7 lbs in 2nd trmester so she says it si fine to eat healthy and excercise durig those months but make sure you gain the correct weight in the third trimester which is about a lb a week. good luck all those tryin not to put on weight tho, i am jealous of your willpower lol. xxxxx
 
i put on most of my weight early. i'd gained about 16kg by 23 weeks but only another 4kg in the last 12 weeks. think its coz i cant eat as much now theres less room lol
