Hi Joey - I used the fertility monitor and I have to say, I am not sure about it... I got a smiley OPK on Wednesday but didnt get my peak on the fertility monitor until Friday / Saturday... it looks for a rise in LH and Estrogen whereas the OPK detects any level of LH over a baseline figure.
My thing with the fertility monitor is this... if your urine is diluted one day, won't it miss the rise as the hormones will be more diluted? And if it is less dilute but you are at the end of your surge, it will detect the level as higher than the day before even though your surge is nearly over... with the monitor you get 2 peak days and up to 6 high fertility days. however the second peak day is automatic - therefore my theory is that that second peak day may well be too late because your first day could have been too late as per my argument above!
perhaps i am over analysing - i tend to do this! but at least with a smiley face / positive OPK, you know that your LH is over a baseline amount and not just a comparison on the day before which you could well have messed up by not weeing properly....
I did find that my surge with the fertility monitor was later than my usual positive OPK and this also backed up my theory.
hmmmm
try it though - its worked for a few people on here i think.
PS 1 had 5 high fertility days, 2 peaks and 1 high after - that is a LOT of BD!!!!
