Hi All,

Well i must admit in my last pregnancy i was so relaxed, this time, the only thing i can think of is the birth and i have till the 28 july to worry.

So i get alot of people saying to me " oh the second one is easier than the first". But do people just say that to make you feel better or is there some truth in it?

It certainly was for me. I really enjoyed my labour last time and I cant wait to do it again this time. :)

Merv's Mum i defo need some of your PMA. I think i worry so much as last time my HB went up to high and kinda freaked me out too much.

My second pregnancy was easier in so many ways because I had Obstetric Cholestasis with the first that then developed into Pre-Eclampsia and they somehow managed to not realise? I ended up being induced, then i was allergic to the prostiglandin (stuff they induced me with) and I had contractions non stop so it all went near fatal for the two of us so I had an emergency C-section and we were both ok :). I had blood transfusions and all sorts and a pulse of 140 throughout most of that pregnancy!

With the second it was all normal and a really good pregnancy, my labour was only 6 hours and I managed to give birth naturally despite being advised to have a c-section... It took me 20 mins to push her out so I guess it was relatively easy but I remember the contractions being massive and close together. I was told the next baby I have will probably come at home before I get to the hospital :s

I think it all depends on your body, for me I wouldn't say the birth was easier because i'd had no experience of actually giving birth but the pregnancy was. My mum always said I was easier than my older brother and i've heard a lot of people I know say the 2nd time is easier. How about the 3rd time anyone?!

Good luck though, stay positive and I think it'll be a positive outcome :)

Omg i think if that would have happened to me i would be scared too mucj to have another ..lol.

Hope you right chick about the second time, i'm just so curious to jhear more second time stories x

Lol yeah I don't know why i'm trying for another one (think i'm pregnant and just waiting) let's face it either way having anything the size of a large grapefruit popping out of your bajingo is never going to be pleasant or fun!!!

How funny Bajingo ....lol! But yeah not even funny. My father used to say yep it cannot be funny pushin a football out ... lol

Ha ha I don't even know where Bajingo came from i think it sounds right though... very true not funny at all!!!

I'm going to have a read through them and i am going to try and stay as positive as i can. I want to be as relaxed as i was with my son, so i need as much PMA as possible.

I'm just telling myself maybe if i had stayed at home longer and didnt have drugs maybe my birth didnt turn out like that with the first.

I must say it is lovely when you find someone who loves pregnancy like you and tbh i did last time, i laughed all the way through it, yes first trimester i had nausea bad, but for the rest no problemo.I think once i get my head around this birthing thing i maybe fine..lol!

my 2nd labour was a lot easier physically! i went from having a 23 hour labour with 2 hours pushing, to a 1h30ish labour with 2 tiny pushes

i read a book, i think it was called birthing from within, and that helped i think, made me realise you dont have to push with all your might cos yoiur body knows what its doing, especially 2nd time, and sort of does it for you. i'm convinced thats why ella came out so quick! well, that and the fact it'd only been a year and i didnt bother with pelvic floor exercises

My 2nd was way easier too and quite an enjoyable experience. I was dreading it coz of the nasty birth i had with my first but it turned out i had nothing to worry about xx

I definitely had a better labour and birth 2nd time around :)

Ok so now i m hearing that some 2nd are easier plus i m defo going to order the book recommendations i have been given.

I need to start the PMA...like now!

MMI i dont think your second labour even really counted?!?! lol either that or you hadnt give your pelvis time to close from the first!! :D xx
