Hi girls not been on here for ages, but I really need some advice. I'm 20 years old in a very serious long term relationship and I really want a baby at some point in the near future. Thing is I came off the pill months ago I'd say almost a year ago. And when I first cane off it my periods came every month like clock work but in the past few months i just keep missing them and I have no clue why. The longest I've for without a period was 4 months and to start with I was convinced I was preggas but no I wasn't :(. I've neither lost or gained weight I dont feel stressed.. I just don't no why my body is playing up ;( any ideas girls??? I'm really scared im infertile or something

Hey

Welcome to PF :)

Maybe go to the doctors & speak to them, they may test you for PCOS or could be just your bodies natural cycles now

Thanks for repling so fast :) I did go to the doctors when I'd missed my period for 2months and she mentioned polycystic ovaries and then said I don't fit the profile :s and told me to go back if I continued to miss it but it cane on the following month so I didn't bother going back but I think I should hook myself another appointment really because somethings not right! It's just so scary i don't think u want to no what's wrong :(

No probs at all hun :)

Defo worth another trip though, see if they can take a blood test to check everything is ok ie not lacking any vitamins etc & see if they can test for PCOS cos although they said you don't fit the bill so to speak, doesn't necessarily mean you don't have it

Another thing to consider for when you are going to try for a baby is 21 day blood test as this checks to make sure you are actually ovulating as well but in the meantime you could always get yourself some cheap ovulation prediction kits from eBay or amazon to use just to see what your bodies doing etc

There's not really a true profile for PCOS, yes lots of ladies with it tend to be over-weight, and have other common PCOS symptoms but it's quite normal for ladies to be slim etc and still have it, I got my ovarian cysts when I was at my lightest, wearing size 12s....

Speak to GP again, there are blood tests they can run and they can refer you for ultrasound scans (I've had so many I'll feel weird actually seeing a baby one day!!)

Good luck hun.

I guess if they were regular when you first came off the pill thats a good sign and probably means your not infertile. I came off the pill in May last year and my cycles were totally wacky to start with sometimes every month and sometimes nothing for 3 months but the last 2 months they've been ok so hopefully its just our bodies sorting themselves out. But as the others said if your worried see your GP.
I have to say I haven't been too worried about it so haven't mentioned it to my GP (even though I went today to talk about TTC) maybe I should.

I've had some weird cycles lol, and that's on the pill, who only knows what they'll be like off it again ;)

Thanks for the replies girls! Its nice too just vent my worries on here!! It doesn't reli help when I tell my mum who says 'omg see the doc u better not be infertile' how supportive eh? Lol I'm going to wait till the end of feb so I have definitely missed 3 months and will book the gp. I'll let u all no as soon as I've been:)
