I have my 20 week scan next week (Tuesday), and if everything is ok I was going to start shopping.

I have seen the furniture I like and it is currently half price (£300 for the set, Cot, draws/changer and wardrobe) and the bedding I like has 20%, but is 20 weeks still too early to start buying big items like these?

No, I started ages ago!!! But then I am an eager beaver :)

Too early? :o
I started buying things at 7 weeks. We got the push chair when I was about 10 weeks.

My 20 week scan was the turning point for me too, they say if everything is OK you are past the supposed danger zone and it made me feel like I could take the plunge.

Are you getting the 1/2 price set from Mamas and Papas, if so I got it too :cheer: :cheer:

Yes thats the one I like but I haven't seen it in a shop, whats it like?

so far I've got the travel system, bath and other bits and pieces. and I'm not even 14 weeks yet.

I was adviced to buy a little each month until the baby arrives. This way you won't have tons of shopping to do in one go, and it's exciting to buy a new item each month. next month for me will be the cot and bedding and a bit of deco as well - can't wait! :D

:rotfl: I don't know its still in its boxes!!! Sorry!! If i set mine up before you Ill post a pic!

If you find a bargain buy it now..i bought a load in the january sales..it meant i had more money to buy more things.

I have the nursery decorated, bottles, steamer, nursing chair and bouncer chair, and I am only 14 weeks.

I don't think I will be buying anything else for a little while unless I see something that is a good price. I have seen a travel cot and full bedroom package that I like but havent decided on a pram or car seat yet. xxx

I started buying at 16 weeks, as stated best to buy bits each week or month to spread the cost.

I started buying after my private scan at 17 weeks as i knew whether to buy blue or pink :)

Hi

When i got pregnant with my first i started buying and getting things pretty much right away so i would have to say its never too early go for it hun

I have now seen a travel system I really like but am worried about buying it too early. It is in stock so I will get it straight away and am unsure about keeping it in the house incase it brings me bad luck.

I am not really superstitious but have had a couple of scares at week 7 & 8, so maybe I am still worrying about that.

I am very eager to get organised but don't know what to do.

My advice to others would be...if you see it and you like it, if it's a good price, get it.......shame I can't take my own advice.

nope... i did what your going too do, wait until the scan

as soon as i found out i was having a girl, and she is healthy i brought some stuff, so it felt a bit more real

have fun, and the best of luck

We're going to wait until I am about 27 weeks, and then buy everything all at the same time. We'll start looking and making decisions about week 24/25. I want to make sure everything is in place by about 33/34 weeks. The only thing we have ordered so far is our Bugaboo - got the car seat thrown in for free at the baby show, and with a 100% refundable deposit it seemed like a win win situation. Have to say though, although I was 12 weeks when we ordered it, I didn't feel happy about ordering it until a fwe weeks later.
