Is it bad luck to but something before 12 week scan?

we wanted to buy stuff straight away when we got our bfp, but decided in the end to wait till after 12 week scan . . . then ended up not finding anything we liked and somehow ended up buying our pram at 15 weeks!!! did save us over £400 though!

a honestly dont believe in that at all a dont get if buying something or having somdething in house gonna harm ur baby a just dont get it but every 1s different a bought 1 pack girls socks 1 pack boys socks at 5 weeks x

I actually bought a travel system today! Carrycot/pushchair. It was in a used/new baby store that's closing down. Everything was new except the frame, and since the store is closing down it was really cheap! I've been looking at the things there for a while, but now more and more dissappeared, so I went in and bought a travel system at only 7 weeks pregnant! :-O Feels a bit insane

Go for it if you want to! I personally didn't want to buy anything big until tri 2, nothing to do with superstitions but I wouldnt have wanted anything baby related lying round the house if things had gone wrong but that's a personal thing, I know I would have found it too upsetting so wanted my 12 week scan first!

We waited just incase something went wrong. Glad we did as we had to have extra tests and were worried about loosing baby. As soon as we got the good results I went out and spent a fortune!!

It's up to you hun, but I held off until 20 weeks and I'm glad I did. Like pinkyprincess we had to have extra tests - had CVS as I was high risk for Downs Syndrome. It would have really upset me if the result came back positive and we had things in the house already! Everyone is different though and if it will help you to make things feel more real etc, then go for it! xx

I didnt as I'm a bit superstitious . But if I were rational really buying something isnt going to change the outcome if your pregnance its just going to give you something to make it more real

Well I was going to wait until 12 weeks, but when me and mom went to the shop yesterday there was this gorgeous Roo Blanket reduced so mom jumped at the chance and got it. Although I've said not buying anything until 12 weeks now. Although I may wait until 20
Before I got pregnant I always said I wouldn't buy anything early 'cause of superstitions but you can't help yourself when pregnant.

Well I said I wasn't getting anything till after my 12 week scan.....a friend sent me a text that just simply said 'I've been naughty!' I knew instantly what she had done! So I told her she had to keep it at her house!!....Then Asda had that big baby event on, Avent breast pumps was all the way down to £6.50!! So I had to get it, but I made my mum take it to her house!....Then I was shopping in peacocks last week & they had a gorgeous winnie the pooh bath robe & slipper set in the sale, I just had to get it!!....Then over the weekend a friend told me that one of her friends was selling the pram we like, only been used 4 times! So we eneded up getting that too (£400 cheaper than brand new price).
Now I've had my scan, I know I am going to keep buying & I don't mind having it the house! I say if you wanna buy it, then buy it!

I waited till about 23 weeks to get anything, just because it would have been too upsetting if anything had gone wrong. then i has a moment of panic thinking theres only 17 weeks to go, and he could come early! and we don't have anything sorted! lol. Two weeks later we have pretty much everything big, so just the fun things left to get like clothes etc
I'll prob wait till about 32 weeks to start getting that stuff as not sure whether to get any newborn or just go straight for the 0-3month stuff - wait and see how big he's going to be

I waited until I had my 2nd scan coz that's the only time I felt it was right and i wanted to know if it was a boy or girl but everyone is different so do what makes you happy xxx

I think most of us buy things early.....I did too...First little things I bought straight after I found out I was pregnant Then at 9 weeks I bought travel system, later on Steriliser and then after the 12 weeks scan stopped shopping till now (21weeks). Just didn't feel like shopping, didn't know what to buy girl or boy clothes ( I think I've got enough unisex clothes). So now after my 20 week scan I'm hiting the shopping again, today I spend my gift card at Next and bought some cute clothes for my little miss>
